UVA reject named starter at UGA

This season is a proverbial tipping point.

Join me in thought if you will:

UGA tanks behind Greyson Lambert and his merry backups
GT just goes out and wins the National Championship

Just try to process how difficult this will be for millions of Georgians to deal with. I think we are the one team that cannot win the national championship before them. Just imagine if we do while they're simultaneously sucking.

That's why this year's game may be the most difficult one ever.

The one UVA fan on SECrant pops in to say...

Without reading this whole thread, I have two views.

1. UVA is terrible with managing and developing QBs. So it's possible Lambert will thrive and grow at UGa

2. If development and fostering was/is not the issue, you guys are fricked. He sucks and wouldn't even start at UVA this year if he stuck around.

The canary is dead.

This is how we went into the 2009 season. The dawgs were 6-5 before playing us, we were ranked #8 and the game was in Atlanta. And they came and beat us.

Then in 2010 they were having a worse season than we were sitting at 5-6, needing a win over us to go bowling. They still beat us.

Then in 2013 we were up 20-7 by halftime. Had close to 0 offensive production in the second half, couldn't stop a single play on defense, they took the game to overtime and then they beat us.

I will talk öööö about the mutts all day every day and I will rub our victories in their face anytime. But I will never underestimate them. That team is too loaded with talent, we should just be glad we have JT5 and CPJ at the helm to keep it somewhat balanced.

UGA fans always fall for the trolls, because:

Lets hope he lasts as long as possible this season so they don't have time to get any other guys game experience.

If the other guys aren't beating a dude who threw more picks than TDs and rushed for negative yardage in the ACC before being buried on the depth chart at U V A, I'm not worried about anyone on their roster suddenly or even gradually becoming Peyton Manning. UGA is going to live and die on their OL and RBs this year. Richt should probably just install the triple option now and save himself a lot of trouble.

Ugh -- this post is triggering PTSD ... :bricks:

Try as I might, I can't imagine a Georgia QB just melting down against us, regardless of who it is. If this kid is still the starter come Thanksgiving and he's that bad then the ball just won't be in his hands enough to do it. They'll keep it on the ground most of the game and then it'll be a matter of whether our defense plays like it did in the latter portion of last year's game, or if we see another 2009.

If it's the former case, we could beat them by three touchdowns.

2011- UGA 5, UVA 25
2012- UGA 12, UVA 27
2013- UGA 12, UVA 28
2014- UGA 7, UVA 41

that seems like a pretty big gap to me, and the on-field results certainly bare that out

Hardly.

UVA has had 3 first round OL draft picks in the past 4 years, not terribly different than UGA.

Prime example of why that new ranking of schools based on fans' grammar is bullshit.

No way on ööööing earth do Auburn fans have the best command of the English language. It's a school for UGA rejects. Seriously. I know at least 10 people who went there solely because they didn't get into UGA.

Nick Marshall anyone?

The Barn is def the UGA reject school. They offer scholarships in the former of in-state tuition to Georgia residents.

Not that I care, but all of the schools in Alabama bordering Georgia offer in state tuition if you live in the adjacent counties in Georgia. I'm not sure if that is the case for schools near the other adjacent states. I know because I almost went to a JUCO in Alabama because it was closer to my house than any USG school.
