Uzzi commits to Tech

I keep reading that PJ will do this will do this or that and we won't do this or we won't do that. I think PJ is smart enough to run the plays that suits the player. Just because he ran this at Navy or that at GS does not mean he will do the same at Tech. I'm for waiting until Sept, Oct to see what he actually runs. I sure hope you are right, and we
win more than many think as long as one is those dang butt lickers east of us.

Yes. And now PJ gets to recruit from a pool different from which he has ever recruited. I think, therefore, we will see a different offense, down the road, from what we've seen from him in the past. It will be option oriented but it will reflect the better athletes that he can now recruit.

Pretty good class, IMO.

1 OG
2 OT
1 C
1 WR
2 QB
2 RB
1 FB

1 SLB
2 WLB
2 S
4 CB

Only thing we're missing is DL guys, and some of our O Line can swing both ways.

T.J. Barnes will be playing DT.

How many years have we heard similar? About 6 or 7 I'd say. To hades with Ugag. Let them do their thing and let PJ do his thing, the guy knows what he's doing. Let forget the past, 09 may or may not be our year, if it is great if not let PJ bring in the best for Tech. All I want is for PJ to kick some serious DOG BUTT!

Don't be silly. I can only think of one year where everyone said the state was loaded with Blue Chip intelligent talent. And that was 2007 where we loaded up. If you recall throughout the great OLeary and Fridge years we had to rely on a lot of out of state talent.

And I remember only one or two years where UGA didn't take OVER 25. It is obvious that they will not take 25 in '09, Clarke County's Finest willing. And despite a small class, they are already loading up now (four? commits). We have every reason to expect a stellar class next year. I love the new staff, but if they whiff next year we are in big trouble.

Uzzi is a huge pickup literally. The staff has done a great job finishing out this class, look for one or two more.

It just seems to feel like, after less than a few months, that the program has some direction, a purpose, a sense of what the leader wants to get done.

This was a KEY get.If we lost him it would be an upset of MAJOR proportions.A guy from Atl who visited us 10 times.DUH!

Very impressive final week for CPJ and staff, maybe more good news to come it seems. Things were looking tough early last week but the last few days have been worth the wait.

Welcome to the Flats to all of the new recruits!

One had already committed in Sims, there are about 2-3 who could still commit. I will find out the names tomorrow. I expect atleast one of them.

I agree - PJ is smart enough to do what's best with what he has and can get. From most of his quotes, it sounds as if he will continue to run the ball out of the option with around a 80/20 run/pass ratio. We should know in the Spring the formation he will use. But like you said, we should way until the Fall before making any declarations.

I still feel no matter what version of the option he runs that we will be recruiting a different type of offensive player than uga.

All I know is signing day and Spring practice can't get here soon enough.

Antonio Wilson hung out all weekend unofficially...we are just waiting on his transcripts to go through so he can be offered officially. I am hoping this sleeper backs off his Vandy pledge and becomes a Jacket.

Just one note GTWannaBee, but I've never seen anything from PJ that would suggest any ration of run vs pass, much less 80/20. He's said he will run his offense and adjust to what's happening in the game.

Wilson does have an offer, his transcripts have already cleared.

You're right. I was only referring to the type of offense when mentioning his quotes. The run/pass ratio is pure specualtion by us and it may be wrong - who knows?

Who cares?

Every time we pitch the ball, it's synonymous with a screen pass or quick out, because it serves the same purpose. Call his pitches passes and his ratios look much more traditional.

Did they just clear this morning? I was told that he was not allowed to be an official visit this weekend because he had not gone through admissions yet.

I was told this morning he was cleared, he wasn't cleared the other day when he first decided to come for the visit though. He was offered last week.
