Just got back in town, this was a big blow. I feel bad for the kids, they played their butts off in the 2nd half. I know they are all down, only one person they should look at to blame. The offense opened up today like I thought it would but someone got their butt in on what to do in the last few minutes and in critical times, when your told not to do something by your boss you don't do it. When your supposed to stay out of the offense YOU DO IT! Things aren't looking good and someone needs to apologize to these kids. Monday will be very interesting, I will post more on Monday once we find some things out, just know some people aren't very happy as I'm sure you guys aren't either and when people are told to do things they are supposed to do that, this program has the ability to be top 15 every year, we all believe that!! This team right now is a top 15 team, we are sitting at 3-3. Things aren't looking good for someone. I got some interesting things for Monday and I'm sure I will have more by then. Everyone have a great rest of the weekend and be safe!!! God Bless you all!!

thanks, my man! Been thinking about you. This place has been a f-n battle ground.

Look forward to the updates dem...thanks in advance. Let the guys know that we appreciate what they are doing on the field! We all understand what is wrong with things...

Thanks for keeping us updated, demjackets. We'll be waiting to hear from you early next week.

yup i was told gailey was asked not to butt into the offense and let that staff do their job, and evidently he chose to ignore that 'recommendation' did exactly that today; and lost the game b/c of the bonehead call after bonehead call....and now there may be heck to pay. The most stubborn man of all time.

someone does owe the kids an apology

someone also should take his headset away

the talent is top 20 definitely. The coaching is bottom 5

Purely ridiculous. I really like Chan but I just don't think he deserves ANOTHER chance. He hasn't earned it. He'll probably get it but one more game like this and I don't see how DRad can't do something substantial about it.

I can't see any reason to defend Chan at this point but we can't settle for another coach. It must be someone who can get us above the level we're playing at now.

I totally agree. But I'm just speaking out of my frustration.

This quote from Moore's AJC column is quite telling.

This is becoming a pattern for the Jackets, by the way. They often lack fire at the start of games before turning into an inferno later.
What’s up with that, and why can’t the Jackets stay on autopilot more often than not?
“If I knew what was going on, I’d do something about it,” said Tech coach Chan Gailey, clearly frustrated in the aftermath, with his sixth Tech team edging closer to having their bowl named Emerald than, say, Orange at the end of the season. “You know, it’s the same thing we’ve done in years past. It’s the same routine. It’s the same everything.
What made him think what we've done in years past was anything to emulate? This man CAN'T change.

Funny you say that 33. I was about to run out of the stands this afternoon and do exactly that. Then smack him upside the head with 'em. Then snap 'em in half.

Stupidest playcalling I have ever seen.

You know what those four plays reminded me of? The four plays Curry called against Wake Forest in 1986 - the last four plays of the game (for Tech): 4 consecutive toss-sweeps left. Wake stuffed every stinkin' one of them and we lost which cost us a bowl bid that year.

Just exactly's a man supposed to do? Quit drinking?

i am sorry but something about this doesn't add it. Are we saying Chan is supposed to be the head coach but can't have any input into the offensive or defensive game plan? He can't call plays or at least influence plays?

We either need to fire him (my preferred solution) or let him run the program.

Once again people post bogus stuff on bbuzzoff, Bootychef don't sit there calling me a chansucker, I am not someone who just sits behind Gailey, I never have been. I think most people would agree with me on here that I am a straight shooter. I am a person who supports these kids and the program, I don't just support a coach or hate on a coach like a bunch of your old Oliary brethren over there, once again I respect Chan as a person and like him as a friend, as the coach of our program his time has passed. That is where I stand.

He is supposed to win football games and let the coaches on his staff coach and do the jobs they were hired for. John Bond wouldn't of sat on the field goal at the end of the game, that was coming straight from Chan, something he was told not to do. John is a hell of an offensive coordinator, you saw how the offense did this week with him mixing things up and having more control except in critical times. I think its pretty simple.

I don't disagree that we would be better off without him involved in the offense. My only point is that stipulating the head coach not be involved in the offense or defense seems silly. If you don't have confidence that your head coach can contribute, or at least have enough judgement to know when to contribute, then you need a new head coach.

What I've thought for about two years now is that we need to create a new position in college football like they have in the NFL. General Manager. Let Chan be the general manager and let Bond and Tenuta be the coaches. When on D, Tenuta makes the call. When on O, Bond makes the call.

I know, I know it'll never work. But I gotta write something to deal with the stench of today.

Actually a really good idea.

I don't think I understand this either goldmember, so I guess we're both a little slow. If the Headcoach can't make the decision about whether to set up for a field goal or go for broke and third and long, what purpose does he really serve? In this scenario would you really need the head coach to travel with the team? I can't imagine Spurrier, Urban Meyer, Les Miles, or any other winning coach stand for being put in such a box. If it has come to this at GT it is time to get a new HC and move on.
