No, because the judgment of whether a team is being considered to be better than they actually are has nothing to do with the fact that they beat us a lot. Now if the question was "Who will be favored to win the Coastal?" or "Who will be favored in that game in October?", that argument works there.

We'll never know. I didn't REALLY get into college football until after around Gardner Webb last year. Before that the interest was in the school alone and maybe in some of the other ACC teams.

The fact is they aren't overrated. The consistently win the conference and play in a BCS bowl. Therefore they are the best program in the ACC. Now if someone picks them for #9 or something this year and you think that's overrating them, that's a different story. But there is no way any ACC team can claim they are overrated when it comes to conference football....that's just stupid.

I have trouble to believe that. I give Beamer a little more credit than to go looking for help on beating Bama from a team that was down 31-0 at half time!

More likely VPI was looking to find out how to do the odd thing known as a successful forward pass and UGAg was asking about how to make their defense not be wimps.

Beamer has had plenty of opportunities to leave...he's just stayed at home (his alma mater). If winning the ACC, again, is running out of gas, I'd like some of that myself.

So 5 years straight with 1o or more wins and 7 of the last 9 is luck?

That's what I was saying. This thread started by talking about how VPI was overrated with all these top 10 and sometimes top 5 rankings. Someone said how can they beating us 4 of the last 5 make them overrated and I was saying that beating us is irrelevant to how good they are nationally but that if the discussion was about conference stuff then that kind of argument is spot on.
