Vote of confidence poll requested for Gailey....

I fully support Coach Gailey at this point. He's the head football coach at Georgia Tech. Now is not the time to be calling for the coaches head. We have half the season left.

Until this is CG's team for real, when recruits that fit his style enter the program, it's too early to tell if he's the real deal or an NFL retread. Yes, there's a lot of talent on this team, but it's likely that they haven't, or never will, buy into Gailey's system - with or without BOB on board. That said, however, it's never that clear if you have a good coach, but it's pretty obvious when you have a GREAT coach. Witness Jeff Tedford at Cal and Ty W at Notre Dame. They came in and are working miracles with the hand of cards dealt them. Gailey might be a good coach for GT one day, but he'll never be a great one.

I know everyone is as upset with this loss as I am... but this isnt the first time we have not looked good on a Saturday, and lost a game that we could have won.... (BC, Va, WF, NCST...)

WF just outplayed us... out coached us... they deserved the win more than we did.... they wanted the win more than we did...

We have lost our top defensive guy.. top running back... are unsettled at QB... and our offensive and defensive lines are average....

I still fully support Gailey and this team... we are going to have more stinging losses this year... but we will also have some satisfying wins as well...

We lost the game.. I am not happy about it... but its done... Maryland is next ....

Hard to say who wanted the game more. Many Tech players played their guts out Saturday. Careless mistakes by a few did the team in, in the end.

BOO

Thus far Gailey is a failure....decent programs Do Not Lose to wake forest ....We should have hired McWhorter....This team will be lucky to win another game.

It's bad enough I had to witness us lose to Wake Forest at home this week.

Now I get to read the dumbest thread in the history of Georgia Tech message boards and a dozen lameass idiot morons cheer in agreement.

I used to think Tech fans were a cut above our enemy to the east....

You all suck and some of these responses are the stupidest i've ever read 6 weeks into a season, 6 weeks into a new head coach! My god. You people disgust me with your ignorance.

Now you sons of bitches know how I feel.

You are correct, Flunkout, this is the stupidest thread ever on StinGTalk.

Say, Yellowjacket, been checking out any past season's records lately?

Mac, God bless him, isn't even a coordinator. But thanks for the wisdom.

We're half way though our head coaches first season. We're 4 and 2. Everyone that knows me well, knows how much this lose hurt me. I'm not ho hum about any lose. Hate for GT to lose at anything at any time.

I support Coach Gailey, the staff, and the players. We've got A LOT of football to play. I'm going to give them all the support I can in any way that I can. We can have one heck of a season still.

Mac is 1 and 0 as GT's head coach and I don't think he'd have put Saturday's product on the field. Face it..Gailey and crew are failures thus far. I hope he succeeds because we cannot afford to buy him out! BTW...Mac is at a far better program today (Texas) than we have at the moment. Think 55,000 are going to pay to see us lose to Wake...I think not...get real, you PollyAnnas!

How can you possibly judge coach Mac (who I sincerely like, don't get me wrong) based on one game? Had he lost, it would have been "This guy sucks! Don't hire him permanatly!!" Many good coaches lose early games. A 10-2 season is unlikely with the way our QB has been playing but if we can straighten that out and put the right guy for the job in the position, we can totally rebound. If I didn't know better, which for some of you I don't, I'd say that a few of you are UGAg fans. The man has lost two games to two teams that aren't exactly Brown University and you are screaming that he was a horrible hire. If we play terrible the rest of this year and don't make a bowl game, I'll be upset but understanding. I've said it before and I'll say it again to all you whiners, SUCK IT UP AND GET READY TO BEAT MARYLAND.

So, you seem to think that understanding will not help?

THEN WHAT GOOD DOES YOUR WHINING DO?

To Big Buck, I want you to quote for me ...including date and article, of O'Leary taking the blame for anything that went wrong. All last year eveyone was bitching that he wouldn't take any blame.

As far as this year's team, we have deficiencies in the QB play, and our D doesn't seem to be able to stop anybody w/o bringing pressure. Saturday we also had a big problem with penalties on the O line (see Bilbo's first series for one, big holding calls on Nat and Leon. We should have won the game IMO but Wake isn't a bad team. The point is if we play well we win, if we don't we probably don't win but we are still in the game.

There are several of you, Bobby Dodd's Ghost, Big Buck, Ahsoisee, who have been pretty consistent in your criticism of the new staff. It's amazing how the rest of you climb on after a bad game. If we continue to lose, you'll get your wish...we'll be back in the coaching search. If we turn this around, either this year or next, I don't want to hear from you. Deal???

I'm not ready to give any vote of confidence on a first year coach when we are only halfway through the first season.

We had two tough losses that could have gone either way.

We all knew we would have some growing pains with a new staff and that we might win some we were not suppose to and lose some we were not suppose to.

That's the breaks of the game.

Ask me in February when Gailey's first full recruiting class is signed. If we have a poor class, then it might be time to take stock.

Until then, I will continue to give my support to the players and coaches. I do, however, reserve the right to question certain calls and what-have-you.

But remember this: It is probable they have forgotten more football than any of have ever learned.

GO JACKETS!!
