Watching James Graham highlights

So his highlights are against 2A players, so we really do not know what we have yet. He is obviously the most talented kid in the highlights, but playing 2A ball he will have to make a big leap to ACC football. It will be fun to watch Tobias Oliver 6A vs James Graham 2A battle it out one day... FWIW Justin Thomas played (6A) in Bama High School... The highest level of comp in both Georgia and Bama HS is 7A.... Not saying James will be bad, but to even be recruited by a P-5 school a player at the 2A level should be the best player on the field... Now has to prove he is the best player on the college team to start.
Weren't those 2A players blocking 2A players for Graham, just like 6A players were blocking 6A players for JT ? Also, even most 3 star players are the best player on the field, especially at QB. Most don't realize how few 4 & 5 star players are available.

While his 2A team lost to mighty 7A Tift County 35-28, it sure as hell wasn't Graham's fault, as he lit those bastards up for 333 yds. Of course, he'll never throw more than 8 passes/game in our offense but he certainly has faced teams much bigger/faster/better than his, so he should fit in well under CPJ.

It should also tell you a lot about the forward pass part of our QB skill set. Is it me or do Navy QBs always seem to throw it better than we do? I might be imagining this, admittedly.
You're definitely imagining that.

It's you.

I get you want to make a point that we're not blowing the doors off recruiting, but this guy is a great athlete, and isn't a reject. We flipped him from a factory, and they were very much intent on taking him until we did. Maybe consider toning it down to avoid insulting one of our newest players who hasn't shown anything other than enthusiasm and promise for the team?

I’m not insulting James at all. He’s not a reject. He rejected VT because they wanted him to play defense and he wanted to be a QB. I don’t follow or know anything about recruiting beyond what I read here and on the hive but I know James’ high school coach and got some insight into his process before he chose us over VT.
My point is that the option is not attracting guys like JT5 and James Graham in droves, it’s an anomaly once every 3-4 years. A great anomaly, but let’s not bend the truth.

For what it is worth, I think we go from T. Marshall as our starting QB in 2018 to T.Oliver starting in 2019! That is not saying J. Graham is not a player, but I think T.Oliver is that good and under the radar..

Although not recruited by CPJ, how did Nesbitt, Shaw, and Washington stack up as QB recruits?
