"qualify for" ≠ "admitted"65-70 out of 100 actually good students in Ga don't qualify for Tech, much less football players (even at the reduced stds).
Agree, just using term by poster I'm responding to. Your point is true for regular students, but if a football recruit meets football stds and the coaches want him, he's in. I was making the point to the op that the demographic making up the top 100 players in Ga don't even come close to "qualifying" as he put it for Tech at a rate of 65-70% as reg students. The actual numbers for academic achievement are shocking and disturbing."qualify for" ≠ "admitted"

I'm well aware the stds are diff. Did you read my posts on this? By your measure, some 14-15 0f ugag's 2-deep on D would qualify for AND survive at Tech. Legit question (not a statement or sarcasm)......do you believe this ?Qualifying as a recruited FB Player is much different than qualifying as a regular student
A former player that contributes to to this board on a regular basis has given similar numbers of the Top100 HS FB recruits in GA that qualify to be admitted as FB Recruits
Academics is not our main issue and has never been, but it always has been a convienent crutch for fans to explain away other issues that negativity impact GT FB

The academic realties at Tech aren't crutches or excuses. They are challenges, very real ones, that imo can be managed to a significant degree, but they aren't going away.
If nothing else I appreciate your research, assuming it's accurate2 of UGAs 5* OLs went to Pace Academy and were academic qualifiers for GT, a 3rd 5* OL went to HS in Buffalo, NY
Roberson their slot WR was so good we waited around hoping he'd be rejected by Stanford, he was and then chose Cal instead of us
Swift the RB went to a Catholic school in Philly
Many of UGA's 2-deep were offered by us
I'm confident in saying that 50% of UGA's 2-deep could graduate from GT in LMC or HST, and that 50% is conservative, could be high as 65% that could graduate in LMC or HST
We need to stop making academics excuses and then call them challenges, instead we need to worry about making GT FB more attractive to the Top100 recruits in Ga
