We have no counter-punch

Nobody ever mentions this. We have the most simple routes known to man.

I think you're wrong. Some of our routes are option routes where the WR's have the flexibility to take them vertical if they get let go over the top. We definitely are not running a full route tree, but most college teams don't.

In fairness, we did counter-punch on Saturday. It's just that we left the door open for Cavman to counter-counterpunch.

Yet we still have guys wide open when we run them.

This. The problem wasn't the routes being run, it was that Marshall couldn't get the ball there in the window that was available. Both INTs were on passes where the guy is open, but the ball is late getting there. Marshall needs to get in the weight room or something to get some more zip on his passes.

he also puts a ton of air under the ball

I forget when during the UVa game (but think it was the first half) - we were inside the Red Zone and had a wide-freaking-open guy in the endzone.

TQ didn't see him - too busy running around.

Too much air on the long ball, to much heat on the short pass. Both are fixable. It would help if he could consistently set his feet.

If he has a counter to your counter to his counter to your counter to his counter to your counter, you just have to counter one more time and punch him in the face.
DEMPUSHI ROLLLLLLLL

So now we don't like Marshall and Jordan. Or do we like Jordan now? We like the Rs-Fr with zero experience? I need to know who should start this week.

The feet thing would be helped by not making the poor bastard roll to his left so often.

We still love them. But TM has room to improve his pass and pitch game. MJ is still hurt.

This play amazed me when it happened during the game. TQM is untouched and throws himself to the ground as he throws the ball. Gonna have to spend more time in practice on throwing mechanics...

Agree mechanics need work, but that looks like he was bailing out before he had to take a hit.
