We May Not Win Another Game

UVa at home was our easiest remaining game. This could be the start of another end-of-season slide.

QB choice next week will be interesting - Nesbitt was horrendous today and not a whole lot better last week against Clemson. I don't see how jaybo could do any worse.

Pretty sad that UVa could pass at will and get over 400 yards against our "great" defense.

Damn beej, did your wife cheat on you this weekend? Why all the doom and gloom? UVA is a better team in my opinion right now than 3 of our last 4 opponents. You need to stop acting like the world is caving in and shut the **** up.

I see you've been taking lessons from GTKyle. Are the two of you really one and the same?

This was ONE loss. Sure, if we play bad every game from here on out and in every game, our opponent plays very well, we could lose out...but that is unlikely. It's so silly how we go from 6-1 to "we may not win another game". What happens if we beat FSU? Are we then set to go 10-2?? Losing to UVA won't keep this team from winning more games, just as beating FSU doesn't mean we will fare well against UNC, Miami, or UGA. Likewise, losing to FSU can't be used as an accurate predictor for the rest of the year. Just look at the ACC this year. How a team plays one week has very little to do with how they will play the next week.

Are they better than 2 of our next 4 upcoming opponents?

This may shock you ... but some of us have a real life that may not make it possible to devote 8 hours driving to and from the game + 3.5 hours of gameday of our Saturday every Saturday.

Not everybody lives on Techwood.

if you dont have to time, then you obviously cant be spending enough time figuring out what the situation is. so why come on here and yell that the sky is falling when you dont even know what you are talking about?

holier than thou, "dont have as much time as you fruitless people that live on Techwood" crap BULL****

i lived in San Diego and made almost every home game for a year. dont give me excuses, you just dont care enough to make it a priority

thats cool, you get to pick your own priorities, but then dont come on here and tell me what you think, b/c you dont know dick and dont have anything to back up your "knowledge" SINCE YOU WERENT THERE.

UVA is due for a letdown.. we had ours today.

We are paying Paul Johnson to erase the "letdowns" ala Chan Gailey. Unacceptable. Period. But this was not a letdown--it was an ass whipping in our crib on our homecoming with so much riding on the game. And we don't put our best effort forward? If anybody believes we were the better team out there, raise your hand. The fact of the matter is we got punked by a team that Duke held to 3 points.
This game and the Gardner-Webb game should be enough to convince anybody that we are not there yet.

Oh, the sky is falling.

Let's all run around like our heads are cut off.

Idiots.

Acceptance of mediocrity such as yours is what has kept and will continue to keep Georgia Tech football mired in the mid tier of a lackluster conference.

you are a douchebag

we are 6-2, you fickle "fan"
if every team could always win them all, then who would lose. do you think GT is the only team in the world that should be perfect

you sound like a dawgs fan, and i mean that in the worst possible way imaginable!

There are choices on the curve between Pollyanna and Burning the Coach in Effigy though. We've had way too much of the latter after one game.

So like I said before, we still have a lot of recovery to do emotionally after the previous regime as a fan base.

Great, we lose and the idiots start resurfacing. When UVA is in the ACC Championship game will you shut up?

Go educate yourself on UVA before you go spouting off at the mouth like you actually know what you are talking about. Here's what I posted before the game.

I don't see how anyone can not be more than satisfied with a 6-2 record (in both losses we had a chance to win) with a NEW Coach, and a NEW system, with the YOUNGEST team in the ACC and one of the YOUNGEST teams in all the BCS conferences.

UVA outplayed us. It happens. Guys like you are what is wrong with our fanbase. You don't know ****, you just talk out of your ass and assume your right.

What was unacceptable about Saturday? A loss? What specifically was unacceptable to you? I think our guys played hard. They even had a chance to win. I think they were prepared. Our major problem right now is our oline. They aren't getting it done and its because of two things 1.) I don't think they are all that talented and 2.) Its a new system that they don't operate well in. Outside of that our team lost focus on critical moments Saturday. Is that unacceptable? Its part of college football. It happens. I think we got up on UVA 14-3, and after that the players just got lost in the moment and didn't expect to lose.

I agree with you that we aren;t there yet, but if you seriously expected us to be 8-0 at this point (which I know you didn't because you expected far worse than where we are right now) then you're nuts. Our team is really young and we're trying to do things that just aren't natural yet. We do have a long way to go. But its understandable and I have the patience to see what happens.

We can at least both agree that thank God Gailey is not coaching this team.

Have you ever stopped to think that your actions and words contribute to the mediocrity you describe? Again, educate yourself before you go spouting off at the mouth. You don't have a clue about the game of football.

Let me show you just how big of a moron you are:
1.) You start the season by saying that GT is trying to "de-emphasize football" by hiring Paul Johnson who was hired at a GT record salary of 1.7 million a year, after we agreed to pay the 1 million per year buyout to our previous coach, just so we can show him the door.

2.) You state that we will be lucky to win 4 games this year with PJ as our head coach.

3.) As of last week when we were ranked and 6-1 leading the conference, not much peep out of you. I think I read somewhere that you ate crow and admitted you didn't know what you were talking about.

4.) Now you come on the board when we are 6-2 and you act like the program is falling apart.

You are fickle. I think that fans should have to pass a test on football knowledge before they are allowed to render an opinion on anything. You would fail that test miserably based on the countless stupid things that have come out of your mouth.

Either that or you are a dawg fan. Take your pick.

Although I agree with most of your post and realize that UVA is a better team than we are, to me there was one unacceptable thing about Saturday's loss: another unforced turnover, this time in the red zone on the snap. This is something that has to stop, and is unacceptable because of the frequency with which it happens, the fact that it is unforced, and how damaging it is. Now, I don't know if it's Johnson's fault for not getting enough reps in, Nebsitt's fault for not being able to take a snap, the center's fault for not snapping it, or what. That's not my job. But I do know that it has to stop if we ever want to win big, no matter the type of talent we end up having.

Well I agree with you on this. But if you look at his history, fumbling has been an issue in his first year at every program. It seems to correct itself once the player feel comfortable making the reads.

How many plays per fumble did Navy average their first year, as compared to last year, and how many years did it take to finally gel?

Well, I don't claim to know anything, but it does seem like every QB we've played has had fumbled snaps. Does that mean they're pulling out too quickly to get the play started or is it Voss? With the trouble he seems to be having getting to his man, and the consistent problems no matter who is at QB seems to point at the C. Don't know if he needs to slow down or what.

Yes, the thing that concerns me is that we all know Nesbitt had problems hanging onto the ball last year, before this system, and he has put the ball on the ground more than a couple times this year in situations not related to the offense.
