One: Ty recruited the guys Weis used in his first season.
hey, great, if i can get paid for only doing work for 1/3 of the time, i'd be set for life. Ty had a great first recruiting class -- i never said he didn't, but the two following classes were THE WORST in ND history. not hard to understand that. were you trying to nitpick or did you just miss my point?
furthermore, Ty had his ONLY WINNING SEASON with davie's recruits. AND Ty was ineffective with his own recruits. Charlie won with them while Ty consistently lost with them.
Two: I didn't say jack squat about Ty. All I said was that ND would fire Weis before his 10 years are up, and they will.
okay, everyone is entitled to an opinion. doesn't make you right, though.... doesn't make me right either.
Weis's 'luster' will carry them through the losing season they have this year.
if they have a losing season. i don't think ND will have a losing season this year, but if they did, you are right, he wouldn't be fired.
Then it will carry them through one more losing season inside his 4th year, if they have one.
don't worry. they won't.
Past that, the first losing season they have Weis will be kicked to the curb by a bunch of irate fans, including you, Oatmeal, who refuse to 'accept mediocrity,' and who claim 'the game has passed him by,' and who say that he 'can't recruit,' and any number of the standard, tired, lame excuse reasons fans call for a coaches head.
hah. funny. irish fans are crazy because they wanted to fire a coach who would rather golf than run a football team. when ND loses to mediocre teams and fails to land top 30 recruiting classes, changes are needed. i think it's hilarious that you think Ty is so infallible and that his firing was unjust. if you don't perform on the job, you get fired. period. did you know that Ty made two times more money than Weis that past two seasons FROM NOTRE DAME'S ATHLETIC DEPT? ND is still required to pay willingham due to his contract and Ty was the #1 highest paid faculty member at ND for the past 2 years even though he was at Washington. Poor Ty.... he didn't do his job and now he makes money for nothing... what a victim. don't believe everything that you see in the national media -- it makes you have incorrect assumptions without the full truth.
The only thing that's going to prevent Weis from being fired by ND is if he catches wind that it's coming, and he ditches ND first. (e.g. herb sendek)
do you know the terms of his contract? you should research them before you make such a bold statement. you sound like you know so much about the whole situation when in reality, you know almost nothing.
It's the way of the world in college football. ND fans are just as crazy as Bama fans. Who was the last coach to last 10 years at ND?
Lou Holtz.... who was the last coach to last 10 years at GT? i can guarantee it wasn't as recent as Holtz. Bad argument.
