You beat Georgia and we give you whatever you want. All that rah rah Collins brought in did nothing but drive us in the dirt. Key's teams will play hard, and we don't have to watch "soft" anymore. Key earned his shot, the guys played their guts out.

Bullshit. We are paying Key what needs to be paid. The other candidates wanted the "get rich quick Geoff Collins" contract. GT never ponied up for good coordinators.

Dabo at Clemson knew after he was hired there the secret is good, or great coordinators. We haven't taken that path at GT. Morons like you want a splashy hire for millions and then the typical GT being a cheap ass.
 
Does anyone recall what the reactions were when O’Leary was promoted from interim to full time head coach?

If it was simply not having the money for an established coach, what would you have wanted Batt to do? Is there a better option you wanted that would not want a pile of guaranteed money?

Although now that we have someone you are probably free to start saying you wanted the candidates you would have hated had we actually hired them.

Very happy for him. I said I would be down for it if we got good terms and it sounds like we did. Sounds like Key gets a tryout contract and we get to clear Collins off the balance sheet. Hopefully he wins and gets a big fat salary.
