Can we have a UGA subforum so people who want to complain about the Dawgs can do so and the people who want to talk about the Jackets can do that?
 
Come on dude, Adams had to say what he did. It's just like a Senator voting for what his district thinks is best.

Self serving, yes, but I completely agree with him and I am very glad someone very prominent on the national football scene stepped up and said this. In my opinion, the 8 team playoff is the ideal solution.
 
Who cares why he is doing it. We need a playoff and I am glad to have him on-board for whatever reason
 
Hate to tell you guys this, but UGA is part of Tech football. It's what some would call a rivalry (some meaning only us Tech fans until we actually win a game). The tension is building in Tech fans, and it won't be released until CPJ can place a W next to that final game.

Nope. Adams is pandering and we all see through it. All he's doing is stating the obvious and trying to win favor. His timing is horrible too.

We need a playoff like we need a hole in our head. Number 1 reasosn is that college is an education experience and a playoff will be a disgrace to our young SA's. Number 2 is you can count GT out of any NC because with our recruiting restrictions, we will NEVER have the depth to win all of our last five games against major competition which is what it would take to win the NC (UGA, ACCCG, 3 playoff games). This is reality, not acceptance of mediocrity by any means.
 
Kennel Director Adams is a tool. And he's only saying this to placate his fan base. We'll see how much Adams is on board when it comes in that UGA wouldn't make nearly as much money from his system as they do from the current system.

Plus, the 8 team format is going to hurt every school in terms of revenue. I wouldn't mind a +1 format that much.
 
Not make as much money in a playoff, I don't know about that.

I don't like the 8 game playoff personally. It's definitely not good for teams like Tech who just don't have the depth that LSU, USC and Michigan will have.

More importantly, I think they just need to make the games more competitive and interesting. And if there is not an obvious (undefeated) team that wins out, then limit a playoff to four teams or just have a Plus 1 at the home site of the highest ranked team.

I think the Big Ten is overrated too, but in fairness, let's play some playoff games at their homes.

Agree - this would be more meaningful coming from Evans. Adams doesn't give a flip about the football program - he's only slightly less jealous of it than GT fans.
 
course if it came to pass the first rule should be that only conference champions would be eligible, so ugag wouldhave been screwed anyway.

You mean like the NIT or March Madness? Or do you mean like the College World Series? Those are all disgraces too.

No, there's a hell of a lot more class going on during the end of December and the beginning of January than there is in March. By the time March Madness rolls around all the SAs are done with classes, that's why basketball can have a tourney but not football.

Get real. It's all about money, and nothing else.

Adams is a self-promotor --his timing is awful --and those eyelashes will blind you when you speak to him in person --I'll wear sunglasses if I ever meet him again. :cool:
