What does the 404 mean to you?

404? Just part of the smoke and mirrors a coach that is in over his head uses.

It’s a good idea to build a program and a brand. It can still work and likely will in a couple years. Work being relative to where we are now. Collins will get us to a bowl game in Year 5.

That's clever! LOL! Just don't tell Geoff, it might confuse him. In fairness, Geoff Collins seems like a nice person, but he is in over his head as Tech's head football coach. After the North Carolina win, I had some false hope he could right the ship. However, today the USS Yellow Jacket is sinking fast and we don't have enough life boats to save the season. Instead of using 404 we need to send out an SOS call. HELP..... The Georgia Tech Football program needs.... HELP!

GO JACKETS!

‘404’ initially meant what was obvious to many of us—that given GT’s unique history, tradition, and location, there’s no reason (academic challenges aside) why the Institute couldn’t do a much better job selling the program to recruits/fans in metro Atlanta in particular, and in the state of Georgia generally. When Collins first accepted the job and expressed his vision for the program, he only said what many of us have been thinking and hoping for years. So we imbibed in the Juice.

Now almost three years later, facing the prospect of a third consecutive three win season, ‘404’ sadly seems like just another overhyped marketing slogan from the coaching equivalent of a used-car salesman.
