he never made an impact in the NFL, what happened to Thomas and what went wrong?
True dat. When I was in the service overseas we had base teams that competed in leagues against other bases including regional champions and a Super Bowl of sorts at the command level. Our team won it all one glorious year and our star player was our running back none other than Mr. Billy Allen himself. Oddly, I didn't know this was possible, Bobby Bowden came calling and worked a deal to get Billy an early out to take a football scholly to FSU. Whereupon he made a name for himself (conference accolades and maybe higher I can't recall right off) AS A DB/RETURNER. He was a legend in our service league as a RB but he killed it at the next level as a DB. Great guy.If we're honest with ourselves, he should have been playing defense like Saban wanted him too. He was never going to be an NFL QB and needed time to practice at other positions.
But it was his choice, and we benefited from it. Not everything is about the NFL.
At least he is making videos about Tech. Remembering JT5s work is a blessing. I’ll never forget what he did on the flats. He was a monster.Who the hell is this Scott Fisher that you keep posting videos by? From what I've seen, he's pretty much a moron with some hot takes about teams he knows nothing about.
I think Tracy Ham was damn good too.
By that logic so should have Shawn Jones and Joe Hamilton. Wipe out those 3 guys and you have to go clear back to 1966 to get us a Top 10 ranking. That's longer than half the people on this board have been alive. Not sure I'd classify any of those as mistakes either for them or GT.If we're honest with ourselves, he should have been playing defense like Saban wanted him too. He was never going to be an NFL QB and needed time to practice at other positions.

First thing said in the huddle before every play ...
"Tracy, don't drop the ball."
Ham had a knack for dropping the snap. But a lot of times, he'd pick it up and run for 30 yards.
Ham's stats for two national championship games, with PJ calling the plays:
722 yards passing, 5 passing TDs/270 yards rushing, 3 rushing TDs
Thomas was a better passer than Nesbitt and it kept teams honest for the most part. However, we really didn't need to throw much with Nesbitt because he was hard to tackle and we had the battering ram in Dwyer behind him. 2008 and 2009 were a lot of fun.Personally, I feel that Nesbitt was better than JT. They had different styles of playing so it basically depends on which flavor you like. I don't consider either one to be the best TO QB of all time though. I've seen a lot of TO QBs so it would be hard for me to say. The guy at Navy was amazing (forgot his name), Tracy Ham,Greg Hill, Tommy Frazier, some others come to mind. Jared Bernhardt, although he only played 1 year. Probably most famous for his Lacrosse days at Maryland. As far as GT goes, Nesbitt is it for me. I loved watching him play.
Our best option QB as far as proficiency was Tevin Washington. He just didn’t have the athletic ability of JT or JNPersonally, I feel that Nesbitt was better than JT.
