Slightly different question
I'm not real worried about any one area. Linebacker could be a problem, but I think we have two good ones who will play faster this year. I saw the 5 dbs, 2 linebacker thing coming since February. O-line could be a problem, but they were getting better last year, the starters return, and there's some younger talent to push them. But when I ask myself What could go wrong this year?, I come back to Law Bee's case.
Our smallish defensive line. We sometimes face teams with really huge offensive lines. One way to stop our offense is to play Gailey ball against us. At half time of the Virginia game, I think it was, Coach Johnson said WTTE that it was hard to say whether the offense had played poorly or not, since the defense could never seem to get the ball back from Virginia. A team with a big line and a big back like Perriman could hog the ball and keep our offense off the field.
We cannot know how our guys would play against that kind of line until it happens -- we don't have that kind of offensive size to test them with in practice. But we had a bigger line last year and they didn't fare too well against oversized offensive lines.
