Clearly the juice train has derailed. No one is arguing that. No one is happy with the season so far. The question becomes, what would Collins need to do to get you back on the juice train? Since we're all just pulling hypotheticals out of the deepest darkest holes of each other's moms, anything goes - other than Collins being fired or resigning.

6 wins. First week is usually a crapshoot. Can think of five plays off the top of my head that swung the game by 28 points. Just one of those goes our way and it’s an unconvincing win, two or more and it’s about what we expected. All 5 and we are looking great.

I honestly don’t know if I’d rather see is continue to suck so at least I’d know we are what I thought we were, or turn things around and be that infuriating team that can have a humiliating loss to an NIU and then squeak into a bad bowl.

I’d almost rather us be consistently bad than unpredictability bad so I could dial in my expectations accordingly.

Happens all the time. Teams come out flat the first week then get on fire the rest of the season. Most of the time we’re the ones facing the teams on fire though.

For the team to go undefeated the rest of this season & the coach to drop all the hyperbole he uses, stop lifting weights on the sidelines ,choreographing cutesy pre kickoff moves, the coach being tougher & start acting like a real football coach. An apology to fans & supporters for the poor play of the team & be more honest about team appraisals. Is that too much to ask?

Having Sims not completely choke. Let’s face it,
Our QB put up an enormous stinker of a performance Saturday night. The only comparable game where he was this bad was against Syracuse last year.

No possible way the team goes undefeated the rest of the year. It sounds like there is no plausible way for Collins to redeem himself to you - which is fine. I'm genuinely curious to see who he's lost completely and who has expectations that are plausible.

His expectations aren’t plausible tho.

With one loss already in place and three current top 10 teams remaining on the schedule, to be realistic given we just lost to NIU, I would settle for 4-4 out of ~KSU, UNC, Pitt, Duke, UVA, VPI, Miami, BC~ for a 4-8 season.

This is both a sad commentary on my confidence in this coaching staff and my ever-increasing apathy at this point.

Wait for the updated polls - UNC won't be Top 10 - barely in the Top 25 is my guess. Miami won't even be ranked.

Unfortunately, Geoff Collins has convinced me beyond any doubt whatsoever that he will never be a good football coach.

He will be the winning coach this Saturday and one or two more times this year, because we play some very weak competition. But, he won't ever put a fundamentally sound team on the field.

But, to rise in my estimation, here are some things he could do without even having to be a decent coach:

1 - Be honest. Quit standing in the rain and telling us it's sunny.

2 - Show that he at least knows enough about football to see this is a fundamentally unsound team.

3 - Take responsibility.

4 - Hold himself, his coordinators, his coaches, his support staff, and his players accountable.

5 - Replace his coordinators.

6- Let somebody else be in charge of game day decision making.

7 - Represent Tech the way Tech deserves to be represented.

Doing these things will not make him a good football coach. That's a gift he was not given. But, doing these things will help him and the people around him. I think these things are the most we can hope for from Collins, and the very least we should tolerate between now and when he's replaced.

I think of course 6 wins and a bowl. In hindsight that will look great.

Beat UGA and 4 wins is enough to cover up a lot f ill will.

I expect 4 wins, and close loses to most teams outside of Clem, UGA will be enough if they can show improvement across the board.

FWIW, that will suck just saying if a lot of the losses are close then you can see how the program might be able to get over the hump in 22.

This is how I feel- sad about the program. I'll be there Saturday though. Even 4 wins is unlikely, but that is the best combination of realistic and optimistic.
