I’d rather have one more year of King than *maybe* 3-4 of Philo. The same guys who recruited Philo can recruit his replacement. I’m not worried about unproven players shifting from team to team. The offense will be different under Philo. Maybe it’ll be better, i don’t know. But I know how incredible it is under Haynes. I think next year will be CFP special for us if we can retained enough of this team, and make another leap forward defensively and as a program as whole. I know the nay-sayers point to the 7 wins as mid and not an improvement. But that’s being intellectually dishonest. This staff and group of players know where they fell short and haven’t made excuses. They’re going to get better, like they did last year. You really think that if we have Haynes King, VT and ND whoop us? Come on.I'd prefer to have him return, but worry that if he does, Philo could transfer. Sometimes a guy returning is a mixed blessing.
I agree and this is the scenario I think plays out as well.If I had to place a wager, it would be on King coming back next year and Philo transferring. Best of both worlds would be nice, but not realistic in this day and age.
Next year is the culmination of the past two seasons. We have a chance to have a really good season. No way it's better to give that up for a QB who has played one good game. It's not even a discussion in my opinion.I’d rather have one more year of King than *maybe* 3-4 of Philo. The same guys who recruited Philo can recruit his replacement. This is absolutely my view and stance on this as well. Very well said. But we’ll see if the key players (starting offense, front 7 on defense) feel this way. Hopefully they appreciate this vision. Can we do it without Faulkner? We will see. But I know it will be a taller hill to climb without Haynes King.Next year is the culmination of the past two seasons.
