Where were you on this date in 2009?

Seeing this makes me both happy and sad.
Sadly, it was like it was yesterday to me.

The big home win over Miami at night. The home win over Clemson at night. The kick and six against FSU, at night.

And then.....last Saturday night happened

2001, you mean? I went to NYC for that Syracuse game (and went up in the WTC) at the end of August, then flew up to the Navy game, and was getting psyched to finally beat FSU. That season really fell apart at the end - the makeup game at FSU felt particularly sad and pointless, and then I couldn’t get anybody to go to Seattle with me so I missed a decent bowl win.

I think 9/10 was a Monday and I was at work on campus.

Yeah, my bad. 2001 not 2011 --- typo. I woke up in Baltimore that Monday morning to hear the news about what had happened in NYC and was still ongoing at that point in PA and DC.

Don't give me you BS about DT. He stood there the entire time. He didn't sneak off of the sidelines. He literally stood there. The Clemson player could have stood there with him. He was on the field the entire time. He never huddled.

He never huddled.
Clemson was befuddled.
The outcome wasn't muddled.
Tiger fans' tears were puddled.

More than 52000 in attendance . . . every home game that year except Jacksonville State had more than 50000.

I missed that game, but was at the rematch in Tampa about three months later. That was great, too. Fun times! I miss 'em.

"Fourth and two ... Parker gonna throw ... Up in the pocket he doesn't get it! Tech's gonna win the ACC title! Derrick Morgan and Anthony Egbuniwe drop him! He tucked it to run and he was stopped!"

We walked back to the hotel from Raymond James because the cab ride situation was such a disaster, me and my buddy carrying his two little girls. They're both in college now.

As for the original question, I think I was there that night, in the West stands, eagerly adding some, uh, flavor, to my stadium Coca-Cola.

I watched this game at Sandbar in Coconut Grove, FL while getting absolutely loaded. Over the course of the game and many cheap pitchers and shots I proceeded to yell repeatedly at two quiet Clemson fans at the bar. At one point I overheard their (irrelevant) conversation after Clemson had made the comeback so I decided to loudly scream: "You ready for this? Are ya? Cause I don't think you are. Why don't you just sit down and shuttup." At least I was right.

Right after the end of the game I was asked to leave the premises by the management. It didn't end there, as I bar-hopped all over the Grove taking the time to öööö-talk every Miami fan I saw to tell them what was in store for next weekend. Oh well.

Good times.
