Who are we hiring for HC next year?

Come on, ain't no good coach coming to GT unless he is some unknown quantity that turns out good or runs some wacky offense like the pirate, Mike Leach.
 
And who wants to go from ornery old man to some crazy guy that thinks he's a pirate and locks people in closets.

Royal and Dye are decent examples for your point. Graves, Saban and Broyles are not – Saban didn't attend LSU, and neither Florida nor Arkansas were ever big rivals of GT.

I'm sure a professional just does whatever he has to do to earn his paycheck. But there's no doubt that having somebody who really gets the school – the limitations, the culture, etc. – can be advantageous. That's one thing we've all liked about TStan. Conversely, I'm not sure how much a UGA grad would really hate UGA. And hating UGA is definitely a prerequisite for the job (one that CPJ has never quite met, BTW). I want Woody Hayes level of hate.

I’ll keep the conversations PJ and I have had confidential .... but trust me, he’s no fan of UGa. At all.

Leach is not big on defense, yeah.

Honestly, I’d be looking at star G5 HCs or P5 OCs.

Major Applewhite - Houston
Bendenbaugh/Gundy - Oklahoma co-OCs
Bush Hamden - Washington Co-OC/Falcons QB coach
Scott/Elliott - Clemson Co-OCs


I’d also see what’s left in the well at Alabama. The coaching staff has had a ton of turnover the last few seasons but you have to look to see if anyone there has the Nick Saban formula. Any long time defensive coaches left on the staff?

We honestly just need to have an ok. State situation happen where an alumn gives 70 million dollars and we can do whatever
 
I just hope that if Todd decides to make a change he does so with a plan already in place. The last thing that we need is another bungled hire like Mbob did after he let Gregory go.
