I went with Chadwell, but I am like 55-45. I just think it's going to be hard for Batt to pass up the "best available" up and comer. Rarely would we be in the position to get that guy, but there are fewer openings than usual. Booster support for Key *could* tip the scales, though, if he is on the fence.

I'm just glad the names being tossed about are significantly better than last time, and id be OK with any of them.

Of course watch it end up being some trash pick out of left field like Mullen on the pole.

I wouldn’t mind Key at all, I just feel like what you see is what you get, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. I just think, with today’s landscape of college football, we HAVE to shoot for constant top 25 if not top 15.

Georgia Tech's search could go a number of ways, though Coastal Carolina's Jamey Chadwell is a favorite among those in the industry and ECU's Mike Houston is a name that has picked up some steam in recent days.

Definitely would rather have key over Houston

An odd list...
Georgia Tech
Interim coach Brent Key may have taken a huge step after upsetting North Carolina. GT may even get to a bowl game. That would mean beating Georgia this week. If not, watch for Bulldogs running backs coach Del McGee, Tulane coach Willie Fritz and former Houston/Texas A&M/Arizona coach Kevin Sumlin. Sanders also must be considered given the Atlanta connection.

Key makes the most since for the program to get us competing quickly. I also think there is a lot of upside we need an offseason to realize.

I don't think we can afford him, but Mullen is an offensive genius and QB whisperer. Would need some support on the recruiting front.

Chadwell would be our attempt at a splash hire. He still remains fairly unproven.

His defenses at Miss St were way better than his offenses. I don't really see anything from his HC tenure that makes me think he is better than a C grade hire.

He turned around UF offense when he took over, and then led them into the pit of despair they are currently in.

I'll pass.

I don't know how much of it was Collins or not. I highlighted the years he was either co-DC or DC. He took a good defense and kept it good.

Then again at Florida he inherited an elite defense and they stayed good.

His time at Temple was a regression from his predecessor and the rest is history.

A C grade hire? You got something against New Year's Six bowl games?

I was being generous with C. The dude ran Florida's program into the ground. I won't bitch about him if we hire him, but we could do better (Collins is proof we could do worse at least).
