Who left the team?

I understand the players. They are on a dumpster fire of a team and don’t want to burn a year worth of eligibility. They want to play for a team that is competitive. So many of starters left us after last season as they knew that it was in their best interest to do so and such has shown out this season. By the way, Chico Bennet left us and played very well for UVA Thursday against us.
Lol, he left for a dumpster fire of s team. What is your point?

First of all let me say I am not super close or have close contacts so take this for what it's worth which is not much but from the contacts I do have this is what I am hearing. Sims has probably played his last game at GT (he has a minor injury but one you can milk and supposedly on the foot) and he is waiting on graduating with his GT degree and apparently has an offer from LSU to transfer after that. As far as back up QB that Pyron is the better athlete and QB but doesn't understand reading defenses/coverages as well as Gibson yet. Gibson is expected to start but the staff know Pyron can play in 4 of the next 5 and keep his redshirt. Haven't heard anything good or bad from the Clemson QB transfer.
Gibson can read defenses? Did I was a different QB out there or something? Gibson is only good at one thing and that is ending the game. He should be our kneel down specialist going forward.

1) Not a tweet you send out the day after a game if you’ve given up on the team -
2) Multiple reports trainers had to take his helmet and pads as he tried to get back on the field Thursday.
This take might be worse than our offense on Thursday.

Sims went over to the bench and someone took his helmet. I looked over because I was wondering how hurt he was, if he was going to come back in eventually, etc. I couldn't see because too many people in the way, but say what you want about Sims and his heart but he seemed pretty pissed off from a distance.

When they trotted out Gibson, everybody around me groaned. Nobody wanted to see Sims hurt, but of the choices this was the worst in my mind but I'm not his coach. If you ask me if you hadn't seen enough of him after his short stint in the dook game, well you got more faith than me & the fans around me. Pretty much closed the book for me on Long and Weinke being duds. Between no improvement in Sims' fundamentals, misusing Sims, etc I've had enough of those 2.

It seems pretty hard to showcase your talent with that awful, awful oline to have any self-confidence behind. with all of the talent that Sims has, that oline has done him no favors or our running game particularly between the tackles.

Dumpster fire of a team...we were .500 going into a home game against a 2-4 team and controlling our destiny in the conference. Bullshit it wasn't a competitive team.
Come on man. If GT was in any other P5 division not named the ACC Coastal, they would probably have a maximum of 1 conference win. GT has been competitive against the mediocre teams to date. Uncompetitive against Clemson, Ole Miss and a mid level UCF team. To keep pointing to UVA being 2-4 going into the game is meaningless at this point. GT’s offense is the worst in the ACC and 8th worst in the country. An Iowa-GT game could possibly be a 2-0 final in 3 OT at this rate.

If you really think this team has any prayer of winning the division / beating UNC, that’s good for you. Reality is, GT probably wins 1 more game.

I don't disagree with the general sentiment here, but I think you're underestimating how retarded ACC football is.

Lol no I know how dumb ACC football is. It’s another reason why the ACC finally did the right thing starting next year when they scrap division winners to determine the conference championship game. Reality is, since the inception of the divisional format, the ACC Coastal should have had a rep a handful of times.

How hard is it to move to the B1G?

How hard is it to move to the B1G?
First have to get invited.

Then have to pay the ACC an exit fee that’s stipulated in the Grant of Rights (GOR) that all members members signed in 2016 and expires in 2036. Don’t think the GOR is published, but the cost to exit the league is said to be more than $100M. We receive somewhere around $34M in annual revenue from the ACC. So the cost to exit is comparable to refunding 3 to 4 years of league revenue. Very significant financial pain. And that’s on top of buying out contracts, stadium renovations, and other existing costs.

Maybe the B1G would absorb some of that, but you’re competing with other programs from the ACC, PAC, and Big 12 to be considered a worthwhile investment. Which makes the first have to get invited part a higher bar than it might sound.

This is all over other boards too. I hope he's not, but if Sims is leaving I honestly don't blame him. He came in to a bad situation and placed under a lot of pressure. Our coaching staff didn't do him any favors and it seems like a big missed opportunity.

I'm honestly not sure he'd sniff any playing time with the way the LSU QB looked tonight as they beat the brakes off of Kiffin.
Jayden Daniels came to LSU from ASU via the portal. He's a 4th year junior and was somewhat of an underachiever at ASU (came in wth a lor of fanfare), but he's looked better at LSU and I'm sure he's **hoping** to declare for the draft.

But they have a freshman named Walker Howard who was the 4th or 5th highest rated QB out of high school last year. If they want Sims, it's either as a backup / insurance, or they want him to play RB, receiver, or some other position. He's mosdef not an NFL caliber QB at this point.
