Who then?

At this point Edsall would be taking a step down to come here.

If you want a coup for our program...

...but he will be gone as soon as the Husker Nation believes he's ready, which could be as soon as Thanksgiving.

I don't know anything about this man, but in a general statement, I'd have to believe that a black head coach could do some wonders in recruiting in ATL. Of course, race nor recruiting can be the only criteria, but it couldn't hurt.

Fire Gailey now...Give Tenuta a chance...I don't wanna fire a decent coach in Gailey... No losing seasons... And, then get another coach unless I know he's good. I would prefer to get an NFL coach who's hurting. Not another Gailey but a good offensive mind...Petrino, he's probably tired of the NFL by now. God knows I would be.

If Jimbo had rescued FSU this year, MAYBE. We need to hire someone under 45 that will really have the energy and drive to BUILD this program.

IMO, we need to hire tenuta or grab a mid-major's coach. What sucks is that the defensive and ST staff are really good. I'd hate to lose that, but if we must to get rid of chan, so be it.

I bet we may see Paul Johnson at Nebraksa next year.

Lets roll the dice...Chris Hatcher! (half kidding)

I think for the most part, the option is probably dead for good in BCS conferences. Defenses are just too fast these days.

So your solution is to hire the guy whose defense just gave up five hundred yards in offense to the second worst QB in the league and keep the ST coach who failed to prepare his players for the onside kick that set the tone for the game.

Got it. Thanks.

Bless his heart.

This is exactly why gtk needs to step back, take a deep breath, go to class and come back next year.

I would have to agree.

Tenuta got used as a sex toy last night, which is why he stood up throughout the game. It was too sore to sit down. Heck, I think Tater could have passed for 300 yards against our defense last night.

Nebraska will almost for sure use a form of the option with their new coach. I don't think they'll hire anyo9ne who doesn't know how to run it. They'll probably use some WVU type stuff which is still the option in a sense. their high schoolers and walk-on program is built for the option. All they need is an AA QB from CA, TX, etc. and they are top ten again running some form of option.

If we hire Paul Johnson, I won't go to a single game as long as he's there. That would be a terrible hire, TERRIBLE. We need Norm Chow right now! Period, no discussion, anything less is just "settling".

NORM CHOW

NORM CHOW

Seriously, I'm curious. What do you hate so much about Paul Johnson?

he's not a big enough name for me, I'll admit it, i'm a whore. Did u watch the game last nite? GT is at a real crucial point, we can hire P.Johnson (a different version of Chan) or we can hire a real killer in Norm Chow.

We need a marquee name on the Flats asap. It's bad right now, but it's gonna get worse when everybody realizes how bat Threet leaving is gonna hurt our program. We need Chow, someone who is KNOWN for developing QBs. We also need a new defensive scheme as well. It's just really bad right now, even worse after a loss. The jekyl and hyde act of this entire staff is so old. They win some big ones, and man ol man they lose some big ones.

GTfanNBama votes for a complete renovation. Complete.

I said it 5 weeks ago, and for the last 4 weeks ago it's been thrown around as a punchline, but I was the first to say it in the first place and I stand by it. So here goes:

GT football is what it is......MEDIOCRE

I said that line earlier this year and it's grown so much it's even on the other boards now.

Fact of the matter is, that we are a mediocre program right now, and it's looking worse until Sean Renfree gets here. Nesbitt throws an awful ball, he can run it, but we'll struggle with him as well. Unless Norm Chow stepped on campus and developed him, other than that, we're in trouble.

ur guys thoughts?

Paul Johnson can put up big #'s. Chan never has done anything like Paul has consistently...not even close.

Chan won 1 championship at Troy.

Paul won 3 championships at GSU.

So, he's three times as good as Chan!

That means we would have scored THREE field goals last night!

27-9 sounds a whole heck of a lot better than 27-3.

:eek5:

But if we was three times better, VT would ALSO score 3 times less points. It's a tie! 9-9

His name is not well known....but Bobby Johnson has Vandy playing good football. They compete very well in the SEC east and are rarely blown out like they were in the past. I believe the current Vandy team would be one of the better teams in the ACC. ask anybody you know who is a fan of SEC football what they think about him.

If you find Chan's offense too risky, you'll love Bobby Johnson's.
