Who was it that asked for something besides the band at halftime?

Maybe some of you like Big Boi, but I will enjoy getting a cold drink and a restroom break even more than usual during this Thursday night halftime.

Good for GT. This is progressive thinking compared to past marketing from the GTAA

Certainly agree with you there. I myself will not enjoy Big Boi, but I'm sure a lot of folks do/will. I'd prefer something else, but I'll say let's wait and see how it turns out before I give a final opinion. But like you said, definitely nice to see something new.

Is this going to attract the kind of football fans that we want?
What is that supposed to mean? Hell, I'm a MAWM (well, 34) that attended GT for 2 years and Outkast is in my MP3 player rotation (along with Johnny Cash, Metallica, Bob Marley, Dr. Dre, Miles Davis, and many, many other various genres of music and artists).

I can only assume that this was posted as TIC.

It's good press for us. Should help with recruiting too.

Glad to see it, not a fan of outkast stuff myself, but he had a box above my fraternities block for a few years and he's a good fan.

Hope this sort of thing continues once or twice a year, might put some younger sidewalk fans over the edge to buy a ticket and get the fever :).

It will appeal to the majority demographic in the Atlanta area which is definitely what we want.

We don't want the Michael Vick / Tank types, but we want the passionate, Atlanta-based crowd.

This will be awesome. He is not going to go out there with some profanity laced rap song or anything, so don't worry. This will be one half time show that I actually STAY to watch!

I REFUSE TO SUPPORT GEORGIA TECH IF THERE'S RAP MUSIC INVOLVED
lol.

Clearly your hate of urban culture exceeds your support of Tech sports.

It's easy for the rap music haters to know when to boycott. Of course, those turds never announce in advance if they are going to play the theme from Titanic at halftime, so I am SOL.

I have no idea who 'Big Boi' is. I know of the Shoney's Big Boy though. I'll be sure to take my iPod in with me and crank some Jimi Hendrix or something to get me through while I await the second half kickoff.

Now "'scuse me while I kiss the sky".

qft

If people think that Outkast is gangster rap, then they obviously haven't listened to their music. I can see how someone might not be into their music, but it is certainly nothing offensive.

I don't even know who Big Boi is.

We're becoming too much like the Falcons... I wish we'd stop.

I'm not a particular fan of his music, but it's pretty cool that he'll be doing half-time. I look forward to it.

At least it's a rapper that will put on a decent show that even people who don't like rap, like myself, will appreciate.

Was anybody else at the Champs Sports Bowl a few years ago? Why, oh, why did they have some truly crappy rapper perform instead of the marching bands. I was pretty embarrassed by that travesty of a halftime show.
