Who was it that asked for something besides the band at halftime?

This issue is all about COLOR......green. If it can get more money in the coffers now or down the road...go for it. Are people honestly scared about a diverse crowd? If so, they need to look on our field. About half or more than half our starters are black.

I heard the '2 live stews' talking about this on the ride home. Doug was messing with Ryan about the make-up of our crowd and how it doesn't exactly match the demographic. But our demographic doesn't match up with the city of Atlanta and I think that's the problem that's being addressed. Our stadium only seats 55,000, which is comparatively small, and it needs to be full.

I think this is a good marketing move. If we can't sell out with our traditional crowd then we need to market to other groups. How do you say "Who's next" en espanol? I heard Bernie Mullen say they are having a Latino singer at one of the upcoming thrashers games b/c they are now marketing to latinos/hispanics.

sad that we have to come up with a marketing plan of this nature to bring people to games.

GeeTee, this is about more than selling out a stadium. DRad is trying to make Tech relevant in ATL. Outside of our alums and die hard fans, no one in ATL has cared about Tech since the 60s, partly because we treat the rest of the city like they aren't good enough for us. He's trying to change that perception and make us ATL's team. Sorry if that bothers you.

#1 Anybody not going to the game I will gladly buy your tickets. I work in Athens and as soon as this was announced there were several jealous ugaG student/fans.

I think this is also about the students. Schools dont cater to students at the games that much because they are not the ones throwing out the big bucks. I think this is not only to try and make GT attractive to ATL, but its also for the students. I am 23 and to me, I thought this was awesome. As soon as I saw it I said I am going to that game. So if geetee doesnt go, I will buy your tickets.

Even if you don't like Outkast, you have to admit they've won grammies and emmies. Consider the Auburn game last week - they had some idiot from American Idol playing at half time.
