Poorly worded title, IMO. The post explains it (kinda) but some people won't read that.

I think it's obvious that Clemson and FSU have had more success than us since CPJ started in 2008, and probably VPI as well, but I think it's fair to say that GT has been the #4 program in the ACC since 2008.

Is that really something to be upset about?

I haven’t looked it up but has VT been to as many OB’s or won as many OB’s as us? I feel like we are a solid 3.

Since 2008:
Clemson 103-31-0
Florida St 98-33-0
VA Tech 89-43-0
Miami (FL) 78-47-0
GA Tech 76-53-0

We're basically tied with Miami, but we've been to 3 conference championships and 2 Orange Bowls and they are about to win only their first division title, so I'd say 4th is fair.

VT won 10 or 11 games 4 years in a row from 2008-2011 (and went to 2 OB's) so I think that gives them the edge.

Winning % over the past 5 years:

Clemson 88%
FSU 80%
Miami 68%
Louisville 66%
VPISU 63%
DUKE 57%
GT 56%
UNC 55%
Pitt 52%
NCST 52%

Right around the middle of the conference. Nothing special and nothing trending upwards.

I like how you give a partial list to make it look like we're worse than we are. There are 14 teams, we're in the top half at #7. If you adjust for SOS I bet we're in the top 5.

I gave a 5 year list of the teams we want to compete with. If you can't understand that data, that is your intellectual shortcoming, not the data's.

If you want Wake, BC and Cuse as your peers, then you are a loser.

You consider Duke a peer? Loser!

Which team would you have preferred to be cheering for yesterday?

They have a better record than us over the past 5 seasons and they own the series in that same time span.

It is what it is, son.

there are plenty of "IIWII" fans who are fine with having Wake as our peer.

If you adjust for Winning % against Duke, we're near the bottom 2.

They need to go back to being Duke. Maybe Cutcliffe will croak soon

Tech has had it's shares of ups and downs with a lot of in the middle. But it sure must be exciting to be a Clemson fan right now. They are like new money.

Now im curious... How would you have worded this?

I said Clemson and VPI because FSU has the $40m buyout for Fisher around their neck. Clemson has it to for Dabo, but at least Dabo looks set to maintain the same level of success. FSU could be in for another stretch of late-Bowden-esque mediocrity.

And yeah, $40m buyouts are kind of a bad idea.
