Imagine it's their ball, third and 2 on our 40.

GT fans start screaming and the band starts playing and we become one, making a joyful noise to hopefully throw the other team off its game. We are LOUD!

And then, the PA system starts playing some hip hop song and steps all over it.

And I'm not sitting anywhere near the band so these are pretty loud, exciting moments. And then, poof, some song comes on and drowns it all out. Energy gone from the crowd.

Why is this allowed to go on?

This has happened for years, even under CCG. You are absolutely right.

At least it wasn't a time out for the RUMBLING ROW

I remember we played Video Killed The Radio Star during one game while CCG was coach.

Was that also when we had the embarrassingly bad white rappers?

No, this hasn't been going on for a while. Only in the last few years has our video board and the sound operating system gotten progressively worse.

It's a clown show. Let's pump up the crowd by advertising more Twitter hashtags every 5 minutes.

It is really bad.
Even the starting lineups are just "here is a pic of the starters and their names" when they used to show a video of each player as he was being introduced.

I swear, I know you guys love Stansbury, but I am already ready for his ass to be gone. Along with Peterson and the rest of the clown show.

Does anyone know if it possible for the P.A. system to broadcast the band? I like the band, but I also like the idea of using those big amps.

They need to get someone who has run or helped run stadium technology during an nfl game. They understand the idea of disrupting the other team and being quiet for ours. The idea of them not using it and letting the band be the band is a lost cause, so may as well do it right.

THIS is what you guys choose to bitch about?

Yeah. THIS is the big issue we have with our program.
Are you aware of some problem with our team that *hasn't* been raised in another thread? Rather than another thread complaining about recruiting or complaining about the triple option, I appreciate a thread with something new to complain about.

The song choice and timing are terrible. The songs do nothing to pump up the crowd and they constantly play over the band.

Plus, why do we still not have an opening, a GT opening. Like VT has Enter Sandman. It's different every year.

When they show the social media posts of people at the game, they often show ones from previous games, with the hashtags.

They've showed the other games scores that included our own score that was incorrect.

The music (?) played at the games through the speakers is awful. I mean, incredibly bad. Straight up crap. I don't care if I sound like 'get off my lawn'...it has to change.

"Put On","Knuck if You Buck", or something else?

I agree that the piped music needs to cut down drastically. Let the band play !

The only time I really want to hear music from the speakers is after the other team scores to drown out their fight song and stop the fans from unison chants.

This has been an annoyance for years -and became worse with the upgraded sound system.

I’d much rather hear the band and crowd noise in appropriate situations -visiting team 3rd and X, defense makes a big play (well aware this comment leave room for ridicule), big play on offense (see above parenthesis), etc.
I like the board for replays, pre-game stuff, but I find it a big annoyance otherwise.
