Why can't we fill up the stadium?

We always get beat up about this,

but what about the opponent's total lack of interest in the game? I KNOW that there must be several thousand UVA alums in the Atlanta area; how come they can't sell their tickets? Can't totally blame GT fans when opponents like Duke bring--what?--a couple thousand to the game.

It's not our opponent's job to sell out our stadium. Although a few teams take it upon themselves to do so.

Now that I think about it, I believe it was the 1998 game that I got my shrubs. Didn't Tech end up reimbursing the whiny Dawgs for the shrub damage that year? The last time we won there (in 2000) was the day that Goose held up three fingers and there were practically as many Tech fans left as Dawg fans by the time the game ended. Didn't feel the need to get their bushes that time.

I agree about rushing the field, wait till we play a ranked team or beat U(sic)GA at home. Or we can rush the field at Sanford and bring home UGA's posts if win there... which would take balls.

As for filling the stands tomorrow for UVA, I was wondering if anyone had 3-4 student tickets not being used. We failed to get together and do a block and the individual tix sold out too quick (sorry if this isn't the place for this request - i'm a newb).

They had already ruined their own landscaping earlier that year (2000) when they stormed the field after beating Tennessee. It still looked pretty pitiful when we played them.
