Why is no one calling out CPJ?

Previous coaching staff wouldn't have been given a pass under the same circumstances. Head coach's job is clock management and it wasn't handled well at the end of the game.

The previous coaching staff had a ****ing history of making stupid ass clock management decisions. CPJ doesn't. In fact he's got one of the all time best winning records as a head coach. I think I can give him a break. Christ, you want to focus on something about this game, how about getting a damn clue and focsuing on the crap that really killed us.

I was ok with his time mgmt at the end. It was his inconsistency between the 1st and 2nd halves that was so frustrating. We had one chance to win late because our offense is not a strike quick offense especially against a prevent defense.

Why in the world we didn't head to the locker room up 9-7 with all the momentum I have no idea. that call cost us the game more than any other IMO.

Just making sure I'm reading your post right, but you wanted them to not call that timeout and try to extend the lead before halftime? In my eyes, I blame the players for not taking care of the ball in that situation. I'd expect just about ANY coach to do the same, and rely on his two-minute drill to try to add to the lead. If you are indeed are against the timeout in the first half, then I wholeheartedly disagree.

Come now, thwg. Do you really think PJ called for a fumble? Of course not. He called time out to try to get into position for another score before halftime. What is wrong with that?

Like I said, I'm not mad about it and I don't think it had any more impact on the final result than any of the other mistakes and bad breaks.

Absolutely I was against the TO int he 1st half. this team has no 2 minute offense. We were running it up the middle. It was a horendous decision. it's not like we're playing 41-38 games. Every point matters and going into the half with the lead and momentum was the difference maker.

what 2 minute offense? maybe we'll have one later this season or next but not now. and he really didn't have one at Navy.

Hang it up. I know you wanted Chan to stay here for eternity. Your side LOST. Those of us who wanted Chan to get the boot WON.

You will look for ridiculous things to criticize PJ on, but the fact is that PJ is a hundred times the coach Chan ever dreamed of being.

We are much better off now than when Chan was here. I know you hate it. I know it grates on you like sandpaper britches.

But guess what... too bad. :laugher:

Bunger, I'm on the side that wants to see GT win. The only coach I owe any loyalty to is the current one.

We are much better off now. I know that based on the last 2 games.

the odds of us scoring (especially running the dive) were significantly less than the odds of us tunring the ball over. i guess we could have got to their 40 maybe and tried a 57 yd FG, had it blocked and returned; that might have been more demoralizing, maybe.

Not to mention we had the lead. Johnson didn't call for the fumble but he is well aware we fumble once every 3 series so far this season and lose the ball once every four. and MSU forces a lot of fumbles. we might fumble 5 times next week.

I won't call him out. Why? He didn't turn the ball over. Not even once.

Don't get me wrong, I'm NOT trashing our S-As. They are merely adjusting to a new style of play. We need to worry about TO for turnover before we worry about TO for timeout.

Uh, cause we fumbled and the defense couldn't hold?

Sorry, but this post is just stupid.

ContactBuzz, you do an awesome CRAWDAD SHUFFLE !! Do you give lessons ??

I had no problem whatsoever with CPJ's time out management. Times out are there to use, and I've never been a big fan of "wasting" them in the first half (esp. with the amount of time we had left on the clock; >1:30 IIRC).

Since another coach was brought up, a lot of folks would have been upset that he would have taken a knee near the end of the first half and gone to the locker room with the 9-7 lead. Now, we have a coach that tries to increase the lead and some folks complain about that. The bottom line is we have to hold onto the ball.

Someone was sort of right when they say we don't have a 2 minute drill. We don't really have a set of plays or type of offense we go with when we need to score in two minutes. CPJ might playcall slightly different, but he sticks with his offense. And CPJ's offenses have been known for the big play and quick scoring at times. I think saying that we had no chance to punch it in or at least make a FG try is ridiculous.

As far as the TO near the end goes, several posters have pointed out that we had to blow that because we let the play clock run down, and CPJ was none too happy about it. If I were going to fault or call out anyone today, it would most certainly not be CPJ.

You make up for it by avoidance of the real conversation.

Did we screw up the clock management or not?

CPJ playes to WIN !! He does not play pussy ball. He expects his players to execute !! I just watched a terrible Auburp team play, which is learning a new offensive system too !. We are miles ahead of them.

You might try supporting the coach and quit sweating the small stuff. CPJ has more football knowledge in his little toe nail, than you will ever have in your lifetime.

I like where we are at. I hate the loss, but thats growing pains !! Our future is so bright, its blinding !!!

No i like playing with one's mind, pussy.

you are the most consistent dick on here. I don't hate many people but you're easty to consider hating.

Later in the season or maybe next season, I think his philispohy will work. right now, though, we don't have the personnel or ability to play with unrealistic expectations and a fumble/blocked kick was more likely than a long 2 minute drive with dives up the middle.

did I mention NCjacket is not a pussy. He's a cock sucker, though.

Man !, the MORONs are running ranpent tonight !!

CPJ playes to WIN !! all coaches play to win He does not play pussy ball. He expects his players to execute !! all coaches expect their players to execute I just watched a terrible Auburp team play, which is learning a new offensive system too !. We are miles ahead of them. Stuns me why they are ranked - they're very similar to us in many ways. Probably a little more depth for Auburn.

You might try supporting the coach and quit sweating the small stuff. I do support. I'm not really as caught up in the TO thing as much as some of you are caught up in arguing with me CPJ has more football knowledge in his little toe nail, than you will ever have in your lifetime. All of us put together

I like where we are at. I do, too I hate the loss, but thats growing pains !! Our future is so bright, its blinding !!!
