Ok, I know I am a little crazy here but think about it. GT has all the money it needs...it's just in the alums pockets.

Pay him $3MM, Unite not only the fan base but the city. Bring in the "rock star". He hates UGA, runs and exciting offense, has coached at Duke.

Tickets would sell out in a week. Dog fans would be miserable for years. GT would bring in huge revenues. Dream big and pay big and win big. If DRAD really wants a star, you got it.

Good plan to me, but hard part is prying him from South Carolina, where apparently he is quite happy. The 3 mil might just do it though!

Throw in incentives like lifetime passes at East Lake, Sugarloaf, and August Natl. The visor would love that.

He's got that program moving in a good direction after suffering through the early transitions....so WHY would he leave? Not to mention that he wouldn't be able to recruit the same type athletes for GT as he does at USC...

I hear all the reasons for him not leaving but consider this - He could beat Ugag every year and get a lot more satisfaction out of it!

What a great idea, wish i thought of it...

This is the dumbest post I've seen. Why not Spurrier? $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. How's that for an answer. Further, he's not interested in rebuilding another program. He likes to win. He's in his 60's. Some of you people are starting to sound as delusional as Bama fans.

Cant he do that at USC? He beat them this year in Athens with a mediocre team. His players are becoming the starters now, so there is no reason he would leave. He is a god in Columbia, whatever he says goes. He is not leaving, the only place he would leave for this year would be LSU.

Hey dumbo, do you think revenues are inelastic, that we reached the max capacity for BDS under Gailey?

I'm beginning to believe too many of us really were satisfied with 7 wins and 5 loses and winter trips to Boise.

We bring in a world-class coach like Spurrier and we will soon be talking about another BDS expansion.

As I stated earlier he would get a lot more satisfaction out of beating Ugag as the GT coach. Remember he has no love for the mutters.

When you live in Columbia SC why would you ever want to leave? I hear they even have a Starbucks.

I admit it's probably marginally better than living in Athens GA......

First of all, its about the cash... second of all, Spurrier's mystique is waning. He was great at UF in a state spilling over with talent. He was innovative in offensive schemes at the time. Now, just about every team in college football does what he did then and then some. As the ESPN announcer said during the SC/UA game, the football world has caught up with him and maybe even passed him by. In his THIRD year at SC, he's 6-6. This coming off an 8 win season the year prior with more seniors and just about everyone coming back. He had a losing record in the NFL before SC.

Forget this guy in my opinion.

Let me help you out here. The proper question is which do we want to be like? Do we want to continue being what we have been or something better?

Oh, I didn't realize I was missing the point. In that case, let's just hire Bill Belichick and pay him $5.5 million a year. And let's sign him for 10 years because I want to a least keep him that long. I'm sure his buyout is chump change, so let's pay it and start kicking some butt!!!

Would we really want to go through what USCe goes through every year in hearing our coach rumored for other positions? His name is mentioned for almost every opening and possible opening.
