Everbody says this until the season starts, and it's bullshit. Once TML, people do not give a öööö about whether the team actually looks improved or not, if we don't win the game then it's as bad or worse than it's ever been.I typically don’t judge the team just on win total alone
I bet you would, you magi know yall are hurting. id dap you up if i could./USER]
TrueHe just needs 1 win against UGA.
I bet you would, you mag
He definitely needs more than that if he still wants to be coaching the team when it plays Georgia. He just needs 1 win against UGA.
Not true. There’sa huge difference between 6-6 with 6 blowout losses and 6-6 with 6 close losses. How you lose does matter.Everbody says this until the season starts, and it's bullshit. With that said, in 2022 it really will not matter whether we can see improvements in the team's play unless we have the wins to go along with it. And that won't change even if we win the first three games. If we start 3-0, we will be absolutely justified in suspecting that Clemson and Ole Miss are about to have catastrophic seasons. That is ordinarily an abhorrent way to look at Tech football for me, but that is the state of things now.
On paper, yes. What I am saying is that none of the people on this board behave that way once the season begins. The only they care about seeing improvement in is the win column and if they don't get it, the team is not improving. Not true. Ah. Ok. Yeah, that I agree with. I’m not one of the hand waving freakoutery guys, but I do know what you mean.On paper, yes. Re: your original point, I am not sure that looking better in losses will mean much of anything next year, or that it should, unless we were to reach the 6-win mark you mentioned. If we win 5 games, lose 4 we were competitive in, and get blown out in the remaining 3 like we did in our final two of this year, I think the "progress" has to be called far too little, too late. I don't think that kind of "improvement" can be considered encouraging. 2021 was the year where 5 wins would have probably kept Collins off the hot seat, but only if we hadn't gotten annihilated in the last two games like we did.Ah. Ok. Yeah, that I agree with. I’m not one of the hand waving freakoutery guys, but I do know what you mean.
We’d be torpedoing any chance of a decent recruiting class at this point. Early signing day is like two weeks away. No way we’d have somebody new in place, too many other schools looking for coaches out there. The pool this year is overfished.Dudes, it's not too late to fire Geoff this year.
no it is not!!Dudes, it's not too late to fire Geoff this year.
Agree. That’s why I said we need the wins this time. There aren’t enough style points to make up for the losses now. Less than 6 wins next year and Collins needs to go.Re: your original point, I am not sure that looking better in losses will mean much of anything next year, or that it should, unless we were to reach the 6-win mark you mentioned.
