Neither of these guys is going to be our DC next season. Who do ya'll think we should go after for Wommack's replacement?
Coach Giff always puts a productive DL on the field. This year has to be one of the least talented defensive lines he's had at Tech, so I wouldn't write him off for that. Plus, he's a hell of a recruiter.'cause our DL is so stellar?

I was going to say Jeff Casteel, but I don't think he'd make a lateral move, and also after watching his highlight reel from last year, it appears he runs a base 3-3-5 and dials up a lot of blitzes from different places. Kind of reminded me of a Tenuta out of a 3-3-5 base. I don't see that working in the ACC very well...of course I could be wrong.

From what a friend explained to me, Alabama runs a lot of blitzes from a 3-4-4 defense, and I'd imagine that a 3-3-5 would be similar cept the blitzers are speedier. From what I understood is you can put 6 or more guys in on the line/in the box and the offense won't know which ones are actually blitzing.
I wonder what limitations we have on money we can pay and talent we can get in terms of getting a defensive coordinator. (certainly can't take the Tennessee route and pay a coordinator half a million).
Yea but at least with a 3-4 or a 4-3 you have 7 guys that can handle the big OLines and run heavy teams we face. With the 3-3-5, you're putting us into a similar situation as the 4-2-5 except worse, because you're losing even more size in the way of more speed.
