Lol so we lose to the same teams as last year in very similar fashion as last year, add a top 10 ooc lose to them and suddenly we're debating if we're have the worst team since xxx. Same sky is falling convo as last year around this time lol

The only teams this team would kill are Tulane and Alcorn. 2-10 remains a very real possibility. :turbonoes:

Don't slit your wrists just yet Wreck Em. We are not going to be 2-10. 3-9, maybe.

My favorite part of these meltdowns is the people who, in the case of this year, act like they could have predicted our successful run in the second half of last year but this year won't be that way because they can tell the difference between the two. They're dumber than anyone who's convinced we'll do the exact same thing as last year.

It's never as good or as bad as it seems but some of our fans are just as retarded as they appear.

Is there away to apply for bowl eligibility? Even if we have less than 6 wins? I'm thinking if someone writes an essay or something to the NCAA pleading our case (tough schedule, injuries, refs, rain, etc), we could be considered. Just a thought.

Mathematically, it's possible for 5-7 teams to get into bowl games. The NCAA has rules that allow it if there's not enough 6 win teams, and favor 5 win teams with higher APR. I don't think it's ever happened though.

How can so many that got into such an exclusive school be so stupid?

Have you watched Georgia Tech football before? Lose on the road to a top 10 team by 8 and them lose two extremely close conference games to decent teams, and we're really bad?

I don't know about you, but I'd prefer that to 51-7 or inevitable obliteration by the elite teams we face. Ask Clemson who they'd rather face this week - 2015 GT or 2002-2007 GT - I'm pretty confident what the answer would be. Sure, we lost to a Duke team that will probably win 9 games. Gailey, who I actually thought was a decent cosch, lost by 3 TDs to a horrible cellar dwelling Duke.

This team fights hard despite really huge momentum swings against them. Maybe our problem was that we set our expectations WAY too high, despite our own coach trying to tell us we had issues. Losing 195753 players to injury surely didn't help. I still think we are a bowl team, we just have to stop shooting ourselves in the foot. If 6-6 is what we're destined for this season, then so be it. I still believe PJ is the best coach we can get, and I'll be there supporting the team every Saturday.

I do not see puke or unc as decent teams. Just very average ACC teams - that is not decent.

Why do you see Duke as a very average ACC team?

Over the past two seasons they've gone 11-5 in the ACC and have only 1 loss on the year to one of the more impressive teams in the country in Northwestern, in a game that NW returned a kick for a TD and Duke turned it over 3 times.

UNC by all rights should be undefeated and I thought that this year when they weren't picked by anyone was actually going to be the year they were good.

You know things aren't going very well when you have to start defending losses to UNC and Duke.

I was around for the B*** L**** era. That was worse than it seemed. So the never part is therefore a dis-proven notion.

UNC lost to a team that lost to Kentucky, Missouri and got destroyed by UGA. If we think we lost to a good team then we've become Tulane fans.

Ohio State last year lost to Virginia Tech. I mean bad games happen to decent teams. I actually think UNC will end up pretty good by season's end.

This isn't even the worst team Paul Johnson has coached here. We just used up all of our luck last season.

I believe you meant to say this.

Yea, that too. Apparently, who knew that you couldn't just replace NFl talent with freshmen. Even still, we were one dropped pick-six away from boat-racing the UNC game. And we had the ball with a chance to beat Duke. We just, you know, sucked when we shouldn't have.

We won a lot of games last year because of one huge play that, if hadn't happened, we would have lost. This year, those one huge plays aren't falling our way (i.e. the pick six that wasn't, the 4th and short at duke...).

Here's the ones that come to mind last year:
Forced fumble with GA Southern Driving
Int vs. Virginia Tech leading to last second field goal
The Kick and The Pick (duh)
and arguably 2 pick six's against Clemson.

4th & long conversion from JT5 to Smelter against VT last year.
