Would you go to BDS this fall?

I will likely be there, even though I will be 65 and do have a mild autoimmune disease. If infection rates are high I might be prudent and stay away from football crowds. But, my work is with the public, life is short, and missing out on things you truly enjoy out of fear of illness and death seems like a bad strategy for living. I do not want to be irresponsible, but if the Jackets play next fall I expect to make two trips with family to BDS. It does not hurt that the five year old grandson asks repeatedly if he will get to see a game at Georgia Tech this fall and if he will be fortunate enough to ride MARTA to the game while the three year old grandson loves to see his picture that was taken with Buzz at the Duke game in Durham last fall and keeps asking, “When can I see Buzz again?” They both have parents who are ECU grads and I also hope to tailgate with them in Greenville this fall.

If the school does not open, they are dropped from the NCAA and their conference and lose all the income that comes with that. Seems simple.

The schools want to open...they just don't know how to do it safely. If you think the cancelled NCAA tournament hit Athletics department conference payouts hard- How about the schools that had to refund spring rent -60 Million on the ledger just flew out the window. Add that to no food service revenue. And the next problem is : "How do we teach class?
Virtual class is a revenue killer just like football is a revenue killer with no fans. It can be done- but its a money loser. Moreover, if students can take class from home, why should the school's student athletes have to show up on campus ? Its a mess.

So they open. More students will die from drug overdoses or traffic accidents than from the Chinese virus.
 
Unless there is a ban, I plan on being there.

I don't get why students must be on campus for athletics to continue. Have a few dorms open for athletes and they can take classes remotely like everyone else. The kids are likely safer on campus than they are in their home community and have better access to resources they are owed for being student athletes.

I think it’s just a way for NCAA to not accept responsibility. If any SAs get sick they can say it’s not because of athletics, it’s because of being on campus.
