Nobody’s missing the point. We all want to beat the mutts over any other scenario (most of us). I just don’t agree with how “awesome” it would be to not qualify for a bowl game but beat the mutts. It’s a loser’s fantasy.

There's no way they make the playoffs if they lose to us. They'll drop out of the top 5. Even if they were to win the SECCG, the top 4 would probably end up being FSU, Ohio St,/Michigan, Bama, and Washington or Oklahoma.

If their only loss is to us, they are still very likely in the playoffs. Would take 4 undefeated teams from P5 conferences for that not to be so. They arent putting 1 loss conference losing Bama in over the conference champ.

So the last time this happened was 1989 and both teams were 6-4 going into the game (we didn't get a bowl at 7-4 but the dwags went to the Peach at 6-5). It's a silly hypothetical because a GT team that doesn't make a bowl doesn't beat uga... certainly not the current version.
