given a choice b/n Nashville and SF as as player I would be all over the west coast.

Minnesota = Utah as far as I am concerned. In fact Utah has gone to BCS.

I still think we should try add the Vegas bowl to the ACC lineup.

I knew we could count on you to try and make a positive spin on this. You do the same thing constantly with Gailey. Yep, I am sure the team would rather go to gay land and play in a baseball stadium against a 6-5 team in front of a few thousand folks vs a huge crowd with a ton of tech fans vs a better opponent... this is ugly and there is no way to spin it.

Again, no respect to GT.

Man sugarcoating things must get tiring eventually, it sure gets tired for us.

Is SF a better city than Charolette? Yes. Better than Nashville? I'd say thats about a push, maybe a little edge to SF.

Would players rather have family/friends/fans come to their bowl? I can't answer that, but I can assume they would.

Do they get to play to a national audience? Not really, it might be on ESPN, but its at 4:30 on a Thursday afternoon. Hell, Tech fans will have to take off early, something that a lot of young and passionate alumnis might be able to do between holidays.

This is really not a good bowl, and our players deserve better. It comes down to us not taking care of things on the field, politics, and all the ACC tie ins sucking. We got the screw job, along with BC, that happens, nothing we can do about now.

I don't really see the difference. Now the Boise Bowl that BC is going to in the COLD WEATHER on the blue turf I see the difference.

As far as it being in a different time zone would you people be compaining if we were in the rose or fiesta bowls?

If you the music city is REALLY BETTER than emerald bowl I will take your word for it.

Last year Uva went to Boise and gave us Champ bowl. I seem to remember you people compaining about the Champ bowl as well. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/pat.gif

you missed the point. To complain about the Music City is like complaining about going to Burger King instead McDonald's.

I think you people are delusional if you feel this is a HUGE LOSS!

I would be curious to see how the players feel. Probably very few of these players were on the team the last time we went to San Fran.

You are truly the king of spin. You've tried to do it so long with Gailey...and now the fruit bowl. I'm sure the players are pumped to play in front of a few thousand non-tech fans in a crappy stadium.

The problem is not with the bowl or players reward. It's not close to the majority here in the southeast I've been to Gator, Champs and Peach and are not bad drives.
A lot of people like me just can't make it. 3 of us not going.
 
Las Vegas Bowl

Minnesota is a program with a decent history not to dissimilar to ours. Remember that poll of greatest programs that came out a few weeks ago? We were #16. Who was #15? Minnesota. That's who. Apparently they play football in the land of too many lakes and more hellacious weather.

As far as Las Vegas---that could be a good bowl for anyone in the country b/c its so easy to get there from anywhere in the country. Plus a fun place to visit for some. If they attached some decent tie ins I think it would be a great addition to the schedule. But playing the #4 team in the MWC or a decent big ten team? give me a break. Big ten anyday.Maybe Las Vegas could be an ACC #5 v. Pac 10 #5. Heck, with a little money it could be a #4 for us since I don't think Champ Sports is paying out that much.

The Music City Bowl always has large crowds...close to sellouts, if I recall. Awesome new stadium on the river in Nashville...and it would be packed with GT alums and friends bc of the proximity. I give, though. You're right...this is soooo exciting!!! Everything about GT this year has been sooo wonderful. That 2 year probation was righteous, dude! Flunkgate was about the coolest...and one of players getting a federal drug charge? well, how rockin is that? This fruit bowl in a baseball stadium playing in front of no one is the pinnacle. Ahhh...to see the world through your eyes. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugher.gif Thanks, Gailey and Braine. Life is good as GT fan with you both in charge.

we played in San Jose 3 years ago and I think the players got to tour San fran at that time.

comparing San Fran and Nashville is like comparing Rome, Italy and Rome, GA IMO
