Wes Durham is Leaving Tech Radio

This blows. Should throw every dollar we can at him to keep him.
 
At least he didn't defect to UNC.
 
Darn. Best wishes to him. He will be missed.

I am crossing my fingers that our radio broadcast doesn't become as "hang your head" bad as our in state rivals.
 
Wes was not a GT employee.....

His status changed about 3 years ago.

He told us many times at Lunch Bunch that he was paid by the Media company.
 
We're in luck. I heard a rumor that just yesterday 3 experienced radio personalities were looking to find atlanta based employment!
 
We have really been blessed to have such amazing talent in our radio booth, from Al and Kim to Wes. This is such a sad day, saturdays just won't sound right anymore. Hopefully Rick will stay on and do color.

Don't even joke about this. Wes Durham leaving is the worst thing to happen to Tech since I can remember.
 
i wonder if ACC teams granting media rights to the conference created changes that might have influenced this?
 
I'm guessing TV network holding $$$ and a big opportunity in front of his face influenced this.
 
Hope he comes back one day. Not because he sucks on TV but because he misses GT.
 
Tech football will NEVER be Tech football anymore. We have lost one of the greatest parts of Gameday. This is a dark day indeed.
 
Those of us who have been around a while remember when Brad Nessler was a local guy who called many Tech basketball games.

Look where he ended up.

Lot of good careers were launched from the campus of Georgia Tech.
