2014 schedule

If you think Kansas was worse than MTSU you need your head examined. MTSU is borderline FCS. Losing to them is worse than losing to Georgia Southern. Kansas is a mediocre team that has been bad in the past few years, but also a team that was nearly undefeated in the past five years, and went to a BCS bowl if I remember right.

Okay yeah I totally forgot about the K-State game. But yeah both of those games totally sucked. I still think we'll have no trouble with the early games. Could be wrong. Hopefully not. I think we'll go 9-3. Going to beat one of the "big four".

MTSU was a direct result of our linebackers being confused as all hell during the end of the Miami game and us blowing that lead like a drunken prom date with daddy issues.

Kansas was.... I don't know. I've repressed that memory. Every time I think about it, all I see is a field of fluffy kittens running through a sunflower patch.

Wasn't Kansas 2-10 the year we lost to them? Getting blown out by 30 plus nearly every game? Mtsu 2012 was a much better team than Kansas 2010.

They were 3-9 that year, and they allowed 413 points on the season, which is bad.

They were 2-10 when we beat them the next year, and they allowed 525 points on that season, which might actually be the worst.

MTSU would have beaten that Kansas team by double digits. The golden girls would have beaten that Kansas team.

Is it fair to say that if we lose to Clemson, VPI, UGAg and Miami again, that CPJ will be gone?

EDIT: Isn't his contract up after next season anyway?

News flash people: if he wins the bowl game this year he will have 8 wins on the season. If he wins 8 games next year too which is highly likely, he's getting a huge contract extension because he will have 5 seasons out of 7 with 8+ wins. He also has the best in conference record of any coach we've had. He does allnthat AND he graduates players. We would be ööööing flaming idiots for firing a coach like that at a school like GT given the issues with APR restrictions.

Settle in people because PJ is going to be around awhile.

I highly doubt we win the bowl this year. If we don't he will have only one bowl win with terrible losses to air force and Utah. Combine that with 1-15 against the big 4 I would say next year it's put up or shut up. With that schedule we should win a minimum of 8 games but I wouldn't bet on it. Hell I thought 9 wins at the start of this season. After that piss poor performance against vt I knew 7-5 was a guarantee. Vad will be much better next year but our oline is gonna be awful again and without attachou our dline is weak as well. I see another 7-5 coming

Why do you "highly doubt" we win our bowl game before it's even announced who we are playing? None of the projected opponents are anything special and we just looked very good a week ago.

I dont consider blowing a 20 point lead against our unranked rival at home looking very good. Granted we played with energy that we haven't played with all year which is encouraging to see. I feel like the players arent gonna be able to get up for the bowl after the latest uga debacle. Air force and Utah were nothing special either.

If you don't think we looked good on Saturday there is no saving you. I completely disagree and look forward to supporting our team in the bowl game. See you next season after we lose a big game.

Yeah we allowed uga to score on their last 7 possessions. We looked great!

Call me an optimist but I think Vad grew up a little saturday. Other than the INT he was playing really well. The defense held Gurley in check for most of the game which is more than a lot of teams could say. The Bbacks ran hard and got tough yards. The WR's made catches. RG25 balled out again. Yes we missed opportunities down the stretch to win the game, but how many people thought we would even be in contention to win before the game? No, I don't claim a moral victory here. But I did see a team that went toe to toe with UGAy. A team that played hard and left it on the field. I look forward to seeing if they can carry it over to the bowl game...

as an example prior to our bowl victory last season, the team played one of its more complete game in terms of effort and pride in a losing effort to Florida State in the ACC Championship Game.

We really need to shake the VPI monkey in order to have a truly successful season again. I think losing that game ets our team morale pretty low as the winner as gone to the ACCCG in most seasons.

I don't think many people thought it would be a blowout. The line was -3 and we were playing a team that lost to Vandy, should have lost to Tenn and squeezed by a bad Florida team before losing their Stud QB. I think most people expected a close game. I expected a game in the 20's, and we played pretty much how I expected.

Where's the dumbass emoticon when you need it?

After Clemson I thought a blowout was a possibility. I was not sure we could exploit their weakness on defense because it might have been another VT effort when we shot ourselves in the foot at every opportunity.

Yes, they lost their stud QB, but it is not like his backup was some scrub. They had a rising senior waiting to take over who will be next year's starter. If fhey did not trust him then they would not have wasted a redshirt year to make sure he got an opportunity to start. Given how Murray completely dissected our secondary last year, and knowing we also had injuries but with less depth than UGA, I was very nervous we could stop them.

Both teams had experienced some bad failures so it was hard to predict what teams would show up.

Maybe it is just the "hope for the best; expect the worst" mentality I have adopted as a GT fan over the years.

J Beno and Will Jackson have played so poorly this year, I have to think we will improve.
went to yja for the uga game and was suprised at these guys size. werent that big.

you also said something about our potential on the d-line and potential means one thing. hasn't done öööö. the loss of dieke and attaouchu is going to be tough. dieke was a monster as was sneezy.
