Triple Option

Logan Thomas had a lot of ööööty days. We were lucky we played them early because they improved over the season as the new qb was broken in. Considering that we beat them, they had to go beat two opponents that we lost to to win the division.

I don't think they're a better team than us, but they perform to their potential a hell of a lot better and I place that on coaching. I understand that we play a tougher OOC schedule and that explains the overall record, but not the ACC one. We underperformed the last several years, who's that on?

The ACC record is entirely explained by playing NCSU instead of Clemson and then having good days against VT and Miami when they were giving it away/missing their best player, respectively.

Good on their defense for getting pressure on Bad Logan, but I think we'd have beaten Miami too if they didn't have Duke Johnson.

Both VT and Georgia were giving it away/having bad days against us. We didn't capitalize when we had opportunities, Duke did.

What exactly is wrong with our ACC record? It's the best in the ACC while Johnson has been the head coach I believe compared to other teams during the same time period.

We lost one game we really shouldn't have and another Rowe really could have won. Sometimes thems the breaks. We beat UNC soundly with our C game. We clobbered Duke. We lost to a good Miami team on the road and a good Clemsom team on the road. VPI was the one we just öööö the bed on.

If we win that game instead of bitching about Duke you all would be bitching about the fact that we can't possibly win the ACC since FSU beat us by 20.

How exactly is getting beat 45-7 playing to your potential? Is that the best Duke should've expected against FSU?

Logan Thomas had one of his best games of the season against us. Were we watching the same game?

Watching us squander an opportunity against the nadlickers was the worst part about it for me. Made my butt hurt the worst, insert bigcry here.

We also have an opportunity to be better next season, but we won't if we don't win the battle at the line of scrimmage.

This is plain wrong. VPI played one of their most complete games against us.

And UGA had one turnover and no bad penalties. Hardly giving us the game. But then again I don't look to take away credit from the players to advance my opinion of the football coach like an asshole.

I agree with this 100%. The O-Line play and outside blocking has to get better next season.

A softer OOC schedule and a bunch of new QBs in the ACC should set up pretty well for us on defense, but we need to play better on offense against the Big 4. Clemson, Miami, and UGA are going to score decent points and we have to keep up.

Virginia Tech scored 17 points and that is a complete game? I haven't taken anything away from the players, you are by saying that 5-5 against FBS opponents isn't a coaching problem. So who's the asshole?

See previous post. 17 points against us was his best game? He scored 10 against Duke, that had to be up there too.

There are so many ööööing should haves in GT football every year it is frustrating. We should have beaten VT, Miami, and UGAg.

We lost that game in the third quarter. Johnson doesn't have the balls he used to have. If we put points up after halftime, they give up.

The last few years that seems to be the rule. I was in school in 1990, it hasn't always been the case. Why aren't we winning these games anymore? Why aren't we going for it on 4th and 1 against Miami last year when the defense was gassed? CPJ doesn't trust his offense anymore, but somehow the fanboys still do.

I'd say the end of the second quarter signaled the end of the game. Up 20-0 at half, we might have momentum and be able to hang on by our fingernails. Coach pussed out.

The late TD in the first half gave them hope. The field goal gave them momentum. If we respond to that, we turn it around. Instead, we get conservative and let them keep the momentum.

if not for the pick in the 4th, it probably would've worked

Maybe, but that's not the killer instinct we had in 2008/2009. I hate prevent offense as much as defense. Keep scoring and put the pressure on them.

I don't know what we did on offense to tell you we were playing a field position game. Ball possession? Undoubtedly we couldn't stop them. Hiking the ball with no time on the play clock isn't conservative.

For gods sake we almost completed a couple bombs at the end of the first half with 30 seconds left.

Sometimes you just get beat.

I don't subscribe to the French philosophy. It requires someone else to save you, but I'll give it a shot.

Dear Boise State,

We have a very good proven coach who fits in at small schools. Please accept our surrender.
