NFL Draft Thread

Falcons will take Sam. :hsugh: They missed the pop & sizzle from mortgaging the future to pick Clowney.

Seriously though, they take Attouchu.

Attaochu's background as an OLB and ability to drop into coverage would make him a more flexible selection for the Falcons. Ealy is just a beast off the edge, though.

If we get either, it's not something to be disappointed about.

And the Falcons are projected to take Sam in at least a couple mock drafts, but not until the 7th round.

Browns and Vikings are dumpster fires. The average fan off the street could out perform those GMs.

You may be on to something BOR:

Browns owner Jimmy Haslam reportedly said another form of divine intervention inspired him to target the 2012 Heisman winner -- none other than a homeless man.

"Here in Cleveland, everywhere I go, people know me," Haslam said in the report. "And I was out to dinner recently. And a homeless person was out on the street, looked up at me and said, 'Draft Manziel.' Just like that."

the browns sold 1200 season tickets last night between midnight and 7am.

We are prety much on the same wave length here. Falcons have 2 4th picks so RB with one and if a TE or another D-Lineman is there.
Im hearing the Texans want to trade their second round pick. I wouldn't mind moving up if possible and grabbing a LB as well

Houston is in hot water if they don't take a QB in the 2nd round. They are going to end up with McCarron at best if they wait for the 3rd. McCarron isn't bad, but he isn't going to be a game changing upgrade over their current QBs.

I just don't think they really want to go back down the Carr road.

I was frustrated when the Rams took Donald, but glad the Bears got a future replacement for Charles Tillman. I hate seeing Kyle Fuller playing for a team I love after hating him for so long. We really need to spend the rest of our picks on offensive and defensive linemen.

they are hoping Matthews keeps Matty Ice from turning into Crushed Ice

is this the same Matthews family with the history with the Falcons?

Yes, it's Clay's nephew. I played with Bruce in Houston 87-88 who is his Dad. I think it was a great pick considering I hate the falcons. Sammy was a solid pick for us in Buffalo.

John,
Have you seen enough of Jake Matthews to have an opinion on him?

I've admitted multiple times that I know nothing about quality OL play. But I watched 3 or 4 games that A&M played in last year and I noticed an awful lot of DE's using a speed rush to go right around Matthews. Manziel was able to escape quite a few of those but Matty Ice isn't exactly "fleet of foot" back there.

So my question is this: do you think he is going to be able to come in and beat out Sam Baker @ left tackle or Mike Johnson @ right tackle?

and here i thought the Bills were just continuing the Gailey method of picking a speedster from Clemson ;)

i think Sammy was a solid pick for the Bills as well, actually

I think they have up too much and if he doesn't at least become a Julio Jones equivalent player they will be screwed. They'll probably be screwed regardless.

Well the thing with Julio is that the Falcons moved up from 27 to 6 to pick him, so it was reasonable to assume their 1st rounder next year would also be 20+. Buffalo is going to end up giving up 2 top-10 picks for Watkins, which is a massively higher price.

Im not John but Matthews is the starting RT day 1. Unfortunately, Dimitroff great decision to give Baker an extension will keep him at RT this year
