Georgia Tech vs Wofford Game Thread

Anybody else notice CPJ grab an assistant coach by the shirt? I think it was after a defensive stop in the 4th. He looked pissed.

I know people will be bitching about today but we won and we're moving onto next week so just enjoy your Labor Day weekend. Go Jackets

Glad that we won, it was closer than I expected, but I will give Wofford credit, they came in and kept to their game plan. Kudos to them. Hopefully Tech learns something from this and does better next week.

Yeah I was trying to figure out what he did. Looked like assistant was out on field or something. PJ was furious. Good to see though, need more of that version of PJ than anything else.

Good for JT to get a full game of reps. Wolf ford made it tough on us the team played pretty cleanly from a mental mistake standpoint as far as I could tell.

That's about the only positives to draw from the performance besides the W. Oh and Smelter is awesome

I definitely agree with this. What little bit I was able to see looked like mostly smooth exchanges and pitches. Please comment if there were some apparent difficulties in this area.

No turnovers was a big positive today

In other news, #2 Alabama is tied at 3 with WVU at the end of the 1st. Sometimes, teams come out a little over-tweaked or flat on the first game. Good win, Jackets.

Offense had issues getting going early but seemed to smooth out in the second half. Justin Thomas in particular seemed a lot more comfortable in the second half.

Defense has issues, particularly the linebackers positioning and awareness. Defensive line getting pushed around on running plays, but that's not something we didn't see coming.

Ted is a bad DC and miserable head coach. I'll chalk your nerd rage up to pure jealousy.

I came in the year after him to play LB. He's not a bad coach. Do I need to tell you what happened to BuzzCzar? He tried your tactic.

I'm not sure which "tactic" you believe I'm using. Unless the truth is a tactic.? Either way you're thinking way too much about conversation during a game thread. I judge Roof by his history as a HC and DC. If you cannot judge a person on their results....:rotfl:

Wasn't Joe Ham pretty bad the first half of his rs soph year? This is just to point out JT is still young and inexperienced but has all the tools you want in an option qb plus a nice arm.

2009: Georgia Tech beats Jacksonville State in the opener 37-17
2014: Georgia Tech beats Wofford in the opener 38-19

Godsey struggled against UCF his first start in 2000

I was very impressed with JT.

And very disappointed in our DL (minus Gotsis...dude is a beast). I still maintain this is our worst DL we've had in over a decade. Chung-ong/whatever his name is played OK.

eh, I'll reserve judgement until the play a more traditional offense
