Richt to Miami.

You can't win at Miami without cheating. It's history and junk.

Without the cheating, they'll hover around the 7-9 win mark because it's a öööö program for the reasons argued by Scion above.

I am still arguing the same point: that Richt will not be more successful at Miami than he was at Georgia
That's a good bet. Very few coaches are as successful as Richt was at Georgia over such a long period of time. The only thing he was missing (obviously) was a national title.

Maybe he will end up winning a national title at Miami, but I really doubt that over ten-plus years he will have the same type of sustained success he had at Georgia.

So... some bowl projections have Miami playing uga in the Tax Slayer Bowl. All kinds of interesting angles to take on Richt coaching his last game at uga vs his potential new team.

Richt will make little or no impact on our success rate vs Miami. They will win a lot more than we will for the same reasons ugag has, and Richt's "brilliant" coaching will have nothing to do with it now, just as it hasn't in the past.

It's amusing to hear how he won't be as good a fit in Miami as he was at ugag because of his reverend like values. Yeah, right. His fsu pedigree and constant Fulmer Trophy finishes at ugag tell ya all u need to know about the.....fit.

He will do as he did at ugag, well with a good QB and not so well with sub par QBs. The real key to how well he does is who his DC turns out to be. I don't think he is going to be able to dodge fsu/CU like he did Bama/LSU.

I think this is awful, awful news for GT. We haven't been good against 7-5 Miami teams with dipshits as HC. How are we going to fare with richt there? He's no genius, but I think he is going to be dangerous at Miami. They will win the coastal in the next 2-3 years IMO.

EFFF you richt. I can't even enjoy uga firing you b/c you go to Miami.

Goddamnit

Doesn't matter. Recruiting relationships in GA have been torn asunder by this move. Our coaching stability allows us to make in-roads here. South Carolina and Auburn are also experiencing turmoil. Only Clemson is rising now.

Beating UGA is the key to winning more regularly against the ACC, and this firing does wonders to help that in my opinion.

I'd trade that for some more wins vs UGA.

Schlabach projects UGA will play Miami in the Music City Bowl. Miami is presently using an interim head coach. That would be hilarious because while UGA wants him to finish the bowl game, he would have a conflict of interest about beating down his new players.

Recruiting will continue in Ga as it has for the past 3+ decades. ugag will dominate the top 50 and fsu, Clemson, and Auburn will get more of what's left of the 50 than we will. Here's betting ugag will have the top secondary, sans Bama, in the SEC on a regular basis.

Academic hurdles trump coaching stability in this state.

The official report from his presser:

http://www.ajc.com/news/sports/college/mark-richt-introduced-miami-head-coach/npcJF/

A few tidbits worth noting:

Richt said he was first approached about coaching at Miami when the Hurricanes dismissed Al Golden in late October. Richt said he was not interested in the position until he was fired Sunday by Georgia.

Regarding players who are currently committed to Georgia, Richt simply said, "recruiting is not over until it is over."

:rotfl:

Richt's return to his alma mater drew an excited crowd. Present were Heisman Trophy winner Vinny Testaverde and former Hurricane All-American linebacker Jon Vilma, both were involved in the process of selecting Richt as head coach.

Miami gonna get serious now? No more Temple coaches.

I would be shocked if many recruits follow him. Maybe 1 or 2 but not more than that.

I don't see it happening either, but I find it funny that his quote is publicly available and based directly towards stealing (or trying to) of UGAg's recruits. I'd love to hear some of the gaggers' responses to this behavior from their saint.

What behavior? The UGA fans got what they wanted and Richt's loyalty is to Miami now. Any recruits who do switch is just collateral damage.

I'm sure you're right that there will be mutthurt over it but it wouldn't be justified
