Marcus Marshall??

What other players? I've heard DM is going to try to stick it out and will be at GT for the foreseeable future, barring any more trouble.

DM was the main one, and I thought his was all about grades?, but I remember reading some stuff about Simmons and Devine as well (though can't recall if was on this board or another).

Well I interpreted that to mean his grades made the cut, at least for now.

DM is the ööööing man. He could end up a record breaking back if he gets his fuk mind rite.

Or are you talking about Derrick Moore?

He was gone for Flunkgate. All it takes is one round of finals to öööö up
I know he was gone when everything became public, but I thought the problems stretched back to during his tenure. At any rate, I do remember that there was apparently some kind of problem with grades/eligibility involving the later GOL teams.

He was never going to see the field. Hope he chooses somewhere he can still get a good degree.

He had some pretty good offers for a guy that can't get on the field.

Doesn't mean he was going to make it here. If he had that much talent, he would have seen the field early this season when our LBs were playing horribly and Davis was hurt.

We redshirted him didn't we?

Yeah I don't understand all the talk about Bridges not being a good player. Dude had a killer offer sheet before committing to Tech. He redshirted this makes. Makes no sense that he's transferring now (football-wise, at least), but doesn't mean he wasn't good.

Flunkgate happened after chans first full year. Zero to do with GOL. Chan allowed too much space and got burned. Gol was on top of it so we never had massive failouts. When gol left he left a vacuum and clough stepped into the academic side of the aa. Didnt work so well. Chan trusted em. Oops.

The GOL issue you speak of had to do with the schools compliance office mishandling progress to degree qualifications. The old cogg in the compliance office screwed up and didnt keep up with the new rules. So basically we fielded players under gol that were technically ineligible. One was Joe Hamilton. Had the guy kept up with requirements we would have taken the right classes. It was as simple as a ööööing bonehead in the academic office not doing their job and advising the AA wrong. It wasnt just football. It was multiple sports. The ncaa punished for this in the chan era. We had scholly reductions under chan.

Two totally different topics.....

Quarter to Semester conversion screwed quite a few of us.

Y'all are putting words in my mouth now. I'm sure he's a decent player, but it this is no Marcus Marshall loss. He's at best an unknown. We were bad at LB this year and played lots of guys, and he couldn't get on the field. I'm not saying he sucks or will never be good, but that doesn't scream game-changer.

I hope he's successful where he goes and doesn't regret giving up a GT degree.

I'll say it. He must've sucked.

Good luck to him regardless.

This wasn't a quarter to semester problem, if I recall it was something like taking physics when they should have been taking organic chemistry (or vice versa). I remember it was mixing up two science classes and the one they took wasn't in the catalogue for their degree program. I remember people shaking their head and saying 'Only at Tech would you go on probation for taking a real Physics class'.

That's what it was, thanks for the correction/refresher. I remembered that the latter involved Joe but I couldn't remember the specifics.

Yeah, I remember hearing that, too, but I thought there was also some connection to the conversion. Regardless, it seemed to be something pretty silly.
