Paul Johnson tells ACC to shove it...

Johnson was further bothered by the lack of balance for teams facing opponents coming off byes. Six conference teams — Boston College, Clemson, Louisville, Syracuse, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest — will not have any such games, while Tech has three. Last season, five teams didn’t have to face an opponent with an extra week to prepare, where Tech had three such games.

That's pathetic.

Not like we didn't know the ACC was going to öööö us over.

The Little Girls in the ACC office think they are giving us a break when we don't have multiple Thursday games, or a Thursday game short week when our opponent had an open date.

a conference spokeswoman said that league policy does not allow for teams to make a request to play a specific team after its open date.

I can't believe he said that. lol

Re: "a conference spokeswoman said that league policy does not allow for teams to make a request to play a specific team after its open date."

There may be other ways to indirectly increase the chance of an open date before us. For example, if a team requests "We would like to not play Clemson and Georgia Tech back to back", then the chances just went up that there'll be a bye before GT. I have a hard time believing Duke's "bye, Army, GT" is random chance.

Regardless of whether it's intentional, if certain teams are getting more byes before their games year after year, the conference should do something to understand why it is occurring and prevent it from occurring.

RE: Duke playing Army before us -

Doesn't this give us an equal advantage as them since we'll get to see how they line up against the flexbone literally a week before we play them? I imagine that has been discussed on here before but I'm still relatively new here. IMO, Duke's advantage from that is negligible.

Still amazed that CPJ had the balls to say what he said in a public forum. Absolutely fantastic.

If it takes more than five plays to score against Duke then they've gotten an unfair advantage from playing Army

Look for the most 'chop block' calls this Fall against us that you have ever seen.

öööö Duke. CPJ is going to run Mills and Jordan out of the diamond for 600 yards again this year.

I hope the army will weaken those knees before we bust them out.
