Alright, time to put it to a vote. Do you fire Roof or keep him for next season?
 
Too many of our problems with the scheme. 2 minute D is atrocious. If guys giving a 7 yard cushion is not what he wanted then we wouldn’t see it.
 
I'm in favor of retaining him in a demoted capacity, so I vote No
 
Ted Roof didn't score zero points against Duke in the second half. He didn't punt 7 times against UGA.

The entire team earned this season and the entire team deserves the blame.

Agree that the Offense needs a bunch of work as well...
I guess I am for putting Roof on notice. Evaluate him at the end of next year. If things did not improve significantly, goodbye.
I am only for giving him this last chance because he is a Tech man.

Our local high school team won two games this year. I am sure they could stop Duke's offense as many times as Roof's D.

Just the week prior, Army scored nearly as many points as us and still managed to win. Do you think Army's D is more talented than ours?!

Even If we doubled our offensive output, we still would have lost.

I do agree that the entire team deserves blame, but the D dropped the ball at several incredibly bad times this year. The offense did enough to win us 8-9 games this year, the D let us down.
 
I didn't like the hire to begin with. To me it felt like Tech was getting a home town discount because they cannot afford any one any better. But then again this is probably the best Tech can afford.
 
I say keep him one more year and let him get his players in there...
Roof is the best we can do...
name someone else who can come in here with our recruiting restrictions and do better...

It's not about blame. How excited or optimistic are you about the future of our defense under Ted Roof? Do you think we will get better? I don't. So we need to fire him.

If he had multiple years with top 10 defenses, your analogy would make sense. Roof hasn't put together a top 50 defense yet. I like the guy, but things completely fell apart the past couple weeks.

You’re right, but his unit definitely lost the Miami, UT, and UVA games.

By defensive efficiency rating he had a top 50 defense this year.
