What excuses do the CPJ lovers make now?

So the O scoring 0 pts when we needed it to - not CPJ's fault?
Taking hot-handed Oliver out for dismal TQ - not CPJ's fault?
Ignoring ST coaching - not CPJ's fault?

The likely 3-win season we're facing - not CPJ's fault?

Dismal TQ?! I seriously feared the game was over when he limped out in the third. Oliver had a great couple of series; but he was obviously limited in play selection, the defense finally adjusted, and he looked like he was starting to get tired and had slowed up half a step; all of which contributed to 3rd and long.

I don’t think Qua picks that first up if he doesn’t put the ball on the ground and he knew it, so he got a little careless. And I don’t think Oliver would have been pitching.

That said, we had a chance on the next series and Paul stuck with Taquan, and I think that was a mistake. Unless Johnson saw something he could exploit in their coverage, he should have stayed on the ground with Oliver.

Fair enough. You may be right, and obviously keeping TM in didn't work out. But again (and I know I sound like a broken record here), I'm not going to second guess his decisions when his offense gained 698 yards and scored 38 points. I'll take that absolutely every game, even if it means taking stalled drives at the end of the game with it.

If you don't watch the game, hard to take your comments seriously.

Again, you can pretend that CPJ's STs giving up 2 KO Return TDs isn't that bad and that I have to see them to comment but it's just a pathetic defense of this coach.

We played miserably the entire 4th qtr on both sides of the ball. Not sure why you're defending that? Not sure why I have to see that for it to be a legit observation but FYI - I did.

this offense isn't built to play catch-up.

1) We put up 600+ yards of offense. We punted twice the entire game.
2) Marshall had almost 300 yards of total offense and Johnson's decision to put him in to pass WORKED.
3) Can't argue with this one. Defense and ST have been way too bad for way too long.

Nobody's saying CPJ should be immune from criticism. You just look dumb when you direct it at his offensive scheme or decisions.

Sorry - I thought I was pretty clear that the D was ööööing abysmal and that ST cost us the game.

I still like Paul, I still like the offense he runs. I think he’s a great coach. I’m worried that replacing him will result in some Bill Lewis years. But unless we can turn this around...

He MAY, MAY, MAY be a good O coach (definitely not great. He can’t even get a QB).

But he sure as heck is NO HC. No accountability, doesn’t care about motivating players, about S/T, about D, about being the face of the program, is arrogant.

Again, don’t know what people are watching or what they are surprised about.

What the are you talking about? I'm not defending any of that. I'm saying that QB play had nothing to do with this loss. Neither did Kirvonte Benson's injury, for example. More things that are irrelevant.

Are you just gonna spam every thread with dumb cliches? Coming from behind wasn’t the problem. Moving the ball wasn’t a problem. Scoring wasn’t a problem.

Today is a symptom of recruiting and management. CPJ sucks at those.

And ST coaching. He sucks at that too.

It will not make no difference to anyone, but 2014 UNC was a much worse team than USF.

But no, this level of play wasn't acceptable.
