Quick Lane Bowl roll call

I feel like Tech owes me a refund on some of that $100 ticket. I thought there was going to be a football game.

At least you get to spend the night in a nice city.

Detroit actually surprised me. It has a nice downtown. I’m not sure I’d come back, but I wouldn’t dread visiting again.

I liked Ford Field a lot too. It is simpler, but much nicer than Atlanta’s new sphincter dome.

The highlight of the trip for me was the Henry Ford Museum. The pregame party at the Firebird Tavern was a bust for us, because they were at capacity when we arrived and weren't letting anyone else in, even though we got there several minutes before the start time. I did get to greet CGC when he arrived, though. The only redeeming value to the game itself was that I had already accepted the loss by the end of the first quarter.

Looks like official attendance for the game was 27-28k, the 2nd highest in the bowl's history. I'd imagine mostly Minnesota fans though?

I was sitting in the middle of the Tech section, so it’s hard to judge how many we had, but we had a good turnout. The people in definitive Minnesota colors were centered in a couple of sections around the 50, and I think we had about the same. The whole lower level was at least moderately populated. The area outside the 20s seemed to empty out first, probably a lot of unaffiliated locals.

It was a respectable turnout for the bowl overall, and the Tech crowd seemed ok to me.

If I were a local and were given tix, I'd show up. Free football game. Grab some concessions.

Well, that sucked :ughinout:
Managed to get into the Firebird, but didn't recognize anyone -- still, better to be among GT fans than otherwise for pregame :drink1:
Brutal performance, though -- manhandled in the front 7 on both sides of the ball and made Ibrahim look like freaking Earl Campbell ...

Sad to see the seniors and CPJ go out this way
