We regularly see position coaches move to jobs at other places coaching a different position group, sometimes on the opposite side of the ball. We also see plenty of great players being marginal coaches and plenty of marginal players being great coaches. If he's doing a good job, he should stay part of the family.

I just dont understand the reason he's retained. He used to be a triple option quarterback and hes a QB/BB coach. I like him. I like that he fought like hell for Tech. I just dont get why we let McCollum go but retained Tevin.
He’s not a coach. Also to think all he knows about football is how to coach qb/bb is completely missing what coaches do.

Collins was impressed with Tevin closing out this recruiting class.
I’m stealing your avi.

But Tevin may be more critical than Caralla or Brent Key initially. Tev will be able to give an honest assessment on every player on the team and he will be a great asset to Coach Patenaude when reviewing film and breaking down CPJ scheme for him to add a variation of it to next year to the new Offense

Tevin is a good one. I think its good to have at least one guy from the CPJ era around. Not like he will have any role in coaching the offense.

This is exactly what CGC said in his press conference today. He said he was impressed with how Tevin helped during the transition, and how he was capable of closing out on recruits, as well as, getting five more on the board. Retaining Tevin sounds like it was an easy decision.

I know it’s hard to believe, but sometimes the best coaches weren’t necessarily the best players. Another long shot: he may actually be smart - having gone to Tech and all.

I don’t understand the fandom for Tevin Washington. He literally had zero success as a QB for FOUR years!!

THACKER (and D staff) be thy name, but we can call him Juice Jr.

This program needed a clean sweep in almost every on field coaches and TStan knew it.

He,saw, for one thing, the lack of ticket sales about to happen - just for starters.

Tevins a nice guy but he won’t be more critical than Key.

My statement will be proven on 3rd down in fall over and over again.

Key has a way with QBs and teaching protections.

Lemme add initially. Tevin is a needed bridge guy.

3rd down hasn’t been an issue for the offense. I want Key to be impactful on making this a balanced line who take different forms whether that be a power, zone blocking and getting them up to speed on pass setting and blitz/stunt recognition

Tevin had to replace The Man. The "wtf my teammate fumbled, give me back my ööööing ball" Man. It's hard to replace The Man. Then we were all like "you suck Tevin" and yearned for The Impaler. But then after a season with The Impaler we all were like "Tevin wasn't so bad." Then The Impaler left to conquer lower division lands and The Man Who Has Seen It All showed up and showed us some high highs and low lows.

Maybe one day I will continue and tell you the tale about the QB that was really a RB.

Tevin deserves respect because he gave it everything he had for years and then graduated. It’s not his fault that he didn’t have the natural talent to take us to the next level. Now that we don’t have to call for him to be benched every week there is plenty of room for respect.

Definitely agree with a needed bridge guy. I’m not saying Tevin isn’t important. He most certainly is. But he’s not more critical than Pautenaude or Key.
