Love Parker's play, but his pro position is center. He does not have the arm length to stay at guard. A lot of college guards transition to center. Wonder if he tried to transition while here in the past, or if he has talked about it to the new staff.

He will not play in the NFL. Thus, the smart decision to get a graduate degree.

Do we know where he’s going? There are many factors that should lead into a decision like this: quality of life, benefit towards the NFL, location relative to family, quality of degree, etc. But you don’t turn down Texas for Florida or Auburn then say it’s a pure academic decision. That doesn’t make it a poor decision, but there were other deciding factors.
 
Sounds to me he wants a shot at the NFL and he thinks he will get a better look at a bigger football name program. If that's true he would have done the same thing with CPJ still here. He needs to show he can pass block in a more-pro-friendly type offense. With his undergraduate degree he may have to go somewhere else to get into grad school.
 
In the end his decision only affects the current season. Long term it will be an advantage for our program because we get an extra scholarship for a new player this year and the younger players will develop sooner with the additional playing time. I never knew so many schools offered graduate degrees in anthropology.

Of Texas, Florida, and Auburn; which does he have viable chance of starting at Center in the fall? I don't know what it benefits him if he ends up at one those as the 2nd or 3rd string center.

When his choice of schools is known, we can debate his motivation (football/academics). When he appears on the selected school's depth chart, we can evaluate the wisdom of his decision. He already stated that he has doubted his abilities in the past, but that doubt has motivated him to be a better player. Wherever he goes, he needs to be on the starting OL for this to be a good move IMHO.

We can talk about the wisdom of the move but I don’t know what the debate about his motivation would be. He already told us. All you can debate is whether you think he told the truth.

Did it ever occur to any of you that he left because he wasn't expecting much playing time in CGC offense?

He says it was academics. If he picks Auburn, for example, we will assume he's disingenuous.

By this you mean he only expected to start 14 games instead of 15 games next season?
