Commit #3- Ryan King- 3*

I’m not gonna lie, I don’t know Jack about recruiting but something tells me we are on an upward trajectory when we get guys early with loaded offers v offers from lower tier leagues, even when the star count is the same. Wins over UGA and TAMU in recruiting go further for me than wins over Directional State.

We are most definitely on an upward trajectory

Expectations too low. May be true for a while but this worm will turn.
Yes. CGC will recruit players that have offers from schools other than FCS and non-P5 FBS. He will have GT consistently in the top quarter of the ACC in recruiting classes. The time Georgia and Clemson got everything in the state of Georgia they wanted, and GT wasn't even a factor has come and gone. Thank goodness.

Fake photo! She has all of her teeth.

I don't know if people understand but there is a lot of good pressed juice around the program right now.

Yes this is exactly. The three-star category is such a broad stroke that you really need to look at their offer sheets to get a feel for talent level. Beating out Georgia State or Georgia Southern for 3-stars is not the same as beating out Ole Miss, Texas and TAMU for a 3-star.

ABSOLUTELY!
If you want to know how good a player is, ignore the stars, and look at the offers.
Paul Johnson literally was signing some players with only FCS and non-P5 offers.
And after an embarrassing Homecoming beatdown from Duke, had the audacity to stand in front of Tech alumni and lecture us about how many recruits Duke had on their roster from out of state, how much better funded Duke's AD is, more coaches, more recruiting coordinators, blah. blah. blah.

Top 25% of the ACC in recruiting is awfully ambitious. We are in a league with Miami, Clempsen, VPI, FSU, UNC. Several schools have little or no entrance requirements. I anticipate a big improvement in our recruiting, but it will take a lot to get to third or fourth in the conference. I hope you are right.

VPI is someone we should beat in the rankings, but as I mentioned earlier they are signing a lot of bodies but 49,22, 28, 25, & currently 33 is something we should beat. We should be ahead of them regardless of requirements.

As a matter of fact, that entrance requirement needs to stop being a crutch for us

The new crew is trying to change the conversation from a negative to a privilege. We will see if it pays off.

You're right about our competitors "admit anybody" entrance requirements but we need to look no further than Stanford to see it's possible.

Also, we have advantages that UNC and VT don't have (location, recruiting base..) and With CGC, we're putting the staff and resources in place to make a run at them.

A couple of breaks on the field early on will really help move is in that direction.

I feel very comfortable saying 70-80% of Rivals Top 50 GA ranked players meet the requirements to get into Tech. A lot of HS are prepping these kids as soon 9th grade to meet the requirement of CFB. We just needed effort and now we have it. I expect another Top 50 player to commit soon

Yeah I saw that too. I wonder if that Texas Insider heard anything new or just jumping in on the action because it's a flip from Oklahoma.

Okay, so I am not imagining things. I could have sworn he was a 4 star. Looking at his ranking history, he dropped really precipitously in February. Not sure whats up with that, or if that is unusual.

Interesting. I've read in the past that the #/% that would qualify for GT from that group is in the 30% range. Regardless, I look forward to seeing how the new staff does over the next few seasons. Digging what I'm seeing thus far...
