Official Stingtalk Tailgate Donation Drive - Operation Flunkout

As a lot of you know our friend and original tailgater Flunkout broke his neck out on Lake Lanier on July 4th, 2016. He's been through a lot of hardship last few years with healing, therapy, accomodations for his new life, etc. He has been living with his family last couple years in McDonough but that living arrangement is not possible for him anymore. He has been looking for a new home in Marietta/Kennesaw area so he can be close to his daughter and he found a place that will let him do the modifications he needs for his wheelchair. But the price aint cheap and I saw he asked for help on facebook tonight. He didnt even come and ask for my help or ask any of you guys because hes got this thing about not wanting to be a drama queen or whatever. But i have no ööööing shame so I am asking for your donations for him. And if you cant or dont want to donate, its ok, just spread the word so maybe others will. It will be appreciated.

He is the reason we took on Stingtalk tailgate as our own responsibility and we have been carrying it on nonstop since 2016. Anyone who's ever come to any of his tailgates knows they could come drink, eat for free till they're content and could even crash in his truck for overnight tailgates without even asking him. He is the spirit of our tailgate and we carry that spirit with us every season.

Just added to the fund. I wish I lived closer instead of 15 mins from campus in DeKalb Co. to actually help out with the work. Can do all he needs in my sleep. But I'm sure he's got a good contractor.
 
$1560 from just Stingtalk alone so far. You guys are awesome.
 
Another $490 were donated through confirmed stingtalkers and $351 was pledged this evening from two other stingtalkers. There's $1,020 donated through anonymous and I have a feeling one of those donations is someone we know here but I cant confirm. In any case, the total is upto $6,236 so far today and it was around $2,600 yesterday. To those of you who have donated or at least got the word out, I really appreciate all of you. Come by the spring game tailgate next month and let's have a drink together. Hopefully we can try to get Flunkout there too.

How much did I pledge again? 300.01?
 
Can I ask some questions on this?

- How much of this exceeds medicare & SSI coverage?
- Who collects this money?
- How much is needed, exactly?
- Is there an organization that is sponsoring these repairs?
- Is there a charity involved? Which one?

Send me a PM and I'll send you Flunkout's contact information. He can answer your questions directly and better than I can. I'm just the cheerleader. I can tell you this much though, the gofundme link belongs to him and it goes to him directly. I had several people pm me asking for a paypal account instead and I gave them his number to call since I dont deal with that part of the operation. I can also tell you I've known him long enough to know hes not asking for 15 grand to take his ass to the caribbean with some hookers and party his wheels off.

Why do these need to be handled in private if the ask is public? I don’t doubt his sincerity but these are valid questions.

Because it is not my place to tell or disclose information that belongs to him. If he chooses to answer you publicly he can. Or you can come back here and tell us all everything he tells you privately. Nobody's asking for your help specifically. If you are skeptical, go ask him.
